Alcohol Markers Challenge - The Outlawz

Good morning!  Happy Friday!  Hope you've had a good week and you have fun plans for the weekend!  It's been quite a trying week here with the weird winter storm, but slowly things are getting back to normal.  Next week they are calling for about 5 days of rain, but at least it won't be so cold.  Anyway, I am here to share my DT card for this week's Alcohol Markers Challenge at The Outlawz site.  Since it's the last week of the month, the theme is the ever-popular "anything goes", with the option to make it a Christmas creation.  Just remember you must have coloring with alcohol markers (any brand) on your project.

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Soft Sky and the patterned papers are from the Kaisercraft Enchanted Garden 6.5x6.5 pad.  The gorgeous image is Woman with Gardenia and Pearls by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff from her AuroraWings Etsy shop.  I printed it on MiC Blending Card and colored it with my Copics.  I added lots of Ice White Pearl Pen accents to the pearls.  The only embellishments were a double-loop satin bow and a shimmery pearl button.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Alcohol Markers Challenge thread and check out the wonderful creations from my teammies, Dawn, Penny and Linda!  We hope you will play along!  It's your last chance to be in the running for the awesome prize Mitzi has offered our winner.  One randomly-selected participant will win a $10 GC to spend on digis in Mitzi's AuroraWings Etsy shop.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:
Through the Craftroom Door Challenge (anything goes)
Party Time Tuesdays #157 (anything goes)
Cute Card Thursday #306 (something new; I used a new digi I just purchased)

Have a great day and see you soon!

Little Miss Muffet Challenge #78 - Love

Good morning!  Happy Thursday!  Hope you've had a good week so far!  It's been a crazy week here in AL!  We got hit hard by Winter Storm Leon and basically the whole metropolitan area has been shut down for a few days.  Poor hubby got stuck at work on Tuesday and had to spend the night in his office.  He made it home safely last night, but not without a harrowing drive.  We just aren't equipped to deal with snow and ice here in the South! Anyway, it's Thursday and time for my Little Miss Muffet DT post.  We have a new challenge for you today and the theme is "love".  Perfect for this time of year!

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Cherry Cobbler and the patterned papers are from the Recollections Valentine 6x6 pad.  The fun image is Celeste Amberglow Cooking Up Some Love by Pollycraft for Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  I colored her with my Copics, cut her out and popped her up on a heart-shaped frame cut with my Cameo.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  Some blue dotted ribbon and a couple of pink heart gems in the corners finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Little Miss Muffet blog and check out the love-ly creations from the rest of the Little Misses and our wonderful Guest Designers, Wendy, Melissa and Rebecca!  We hope you will play along!  You have until Tuesday, February 11th at 11:55 PM CST to enter your project.  All the deatls and rules are on the LMM blog.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:
Friday Sketch Challenge #61 (sketch)
Oozak Challenge #30 (love)
Sentimental Sundays #191 (lovey dovey)
Craft Your Passion #198 (spots and stripes)

Dark Lilies

Good morning!  Happy Tuesday! Hope you are staying warm where you are!  If you can believe it, it's 21 and snowing here in AL!  What crazy weather this year!  Good day to stay in, for sure.  I am popping in this morning with a card I made for a couple of challenges I enjoy doing when I have time.

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Elegant Eggplant and the two patterned papers ares from the Memory Box Viola 6x6 pack.  The beautiful image is a digi by ching chou kuik for Sweet Pea Stamps.  She is called Dark Lilies.  This is one of the images I chose as my prize for winning a challenge.  I printed her on MiC Blending Card and colored her with my Copics.  I added a bit of Crystal Stickles to the vine and the hummingbird.  I added a few Wild Orchid Crafts roses and some iridescent teal gems from my stash.  A double-loop seam binding bow finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Thanks for stopping by!  I'm slowly, but surely, making my way around to visit!

I am entering my card in the following challenges:
Sweet Pea Stampers (flower power)
Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 #04 (sketch; I flipped it one turn)

Happy Balloon Day!

Hi again!  I didn't think I would be back today, but I managed to finish a card I was hoping to share for a couple of challenges.  It is for the Make it Crafty Facebook Sketch Challenge #5 and the Make it Colourful Challenge #5.  As usual, there was an easy and hard challenge for the Make it Colourful challenge.  I chose the easy one this time, which was to use blue and yellow for coloring.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

I made a scalloped easel card using the sketch.  My card base and mats are SU Crushed Curry and the patterned paper is from the Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane 6x6 pad.  The fun image is Melissa's Balloon from Make it Crafty. I printed her on MiC Blending Card and colored her with my Copics.  I fussy cut her and popped her up on foam tape.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  Some dotted Crushed Curry ribbon finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Copics:
Skin: E50, E51, E21, E11, E13
Hair: E42, E44, E47

You Look Marvelous

Hi there!  Happy Monday!  Hope you had a great weekend and your week is off to a terrific start!  I am popping in really quickly to share a card I made with a new set Paulette has added to her Create With TLC store.  It's got a couple of fun vintage images and of course, fantastic sentiments to pair with them!

Here is "Look Cute":

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Baja Breeze and the patterned papers are from the Teresa Collins Fabrications 6x6 pad.  I colored the elegant vintage image from Look Cute with my Copics.  The sentiment was a freebie some time back from Create With TLC.  I thought it matched well with the image.  That's it!  I kept it very simple with no added embellishments.

Here is a close-up of the image:

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be around to visit a little later.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Elisabeth Bell's World January/February Challenge

It's me again!  I promise this is the last post from me today. It rarely happens that so many things come at once.  If you are looking for my Sketch Saturday or Super Saturday posts, please scroll down one or two posts.  Anyway, I am here with my card for the new Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge.  I get to play along again as part of the GDT this term.  The theme this month is "white on white with a pop of red".  You can use any Elisabeth Bell image to enter.

Here is my card:

Those who know me know that, although very simple, this was hard for me!  I am rarely without my beloved patterned papers!  Using so much white scares me - lol!  Anyway, you can see that I've layered up diecuts from the Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty-Five set.  I popped some of the layers up on foam tape for added dimension.  The sweet image is Little Mama from Elisabeth Bell's Digital Collection.   She is printed on Hammermill Color Copy Digital 100 lb. Coverstock (I'm trying a new coloring cardstock) and colored with my Copics.  I added red Stickles to her jewelry and Ice White Pearl Pen accents to the strand of pearls on the ground.   The only embellishment I added was the red satin bow.

Here is a close-up of the image:

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge blog and feast your eyes on the gorgeous creations from the Digi Bells and my co-GDT, Linda!  We hope you will play along!

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Here is Alex's fantastic sketch for the week:

Here is my card:

I flipped the sketch for my card.  My card base and mats are SU Pretty in Pink and the patterned papers are from the Best Creations, Inc. Cupcake 6x6 Glitter pack. The fun image is Madeline Loves Cupcake from Milk Coffee.  I printed her on MiC Blending Card and colored her with my Copics.  I added a bunch of sparkly Stickles to her jewelry and vest.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC. A double-loop taffetta bow and ribbon finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Little Miss Muffet - Special Super Saturday

Good morning!  Happy Saturday!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!  It's going to be a busy day on my blog today!  I have a few different DT projects to share, so I hope you won't get tired of me before I'm done! If you are looking for my Sketch Saturday DT post, please scroll up one post.  OK, so first up is a special Super Saturday post for the Little Miss Muffet DT.  We have some awesome guests joining us and we have a very special fundraiser going on, too!  Barbara's daughters, Cassandra and Lydia, are participating in a "Jump Rope for Heart" activity at their school, where the kids learn jump rope skills and raise money for the American Heart Association.  It's a cause that has a close connection for the girls as their cousin, Ryker, had open heart surgery when he was just 6 months old.  You can read more about him and the fundraiser on the Little Miss Muffet blog today.

Barbara has drawn a special new image with Ryker as the inspiration.  He is Polka Dot Pals Ryker and what a cutie he is!  The image is now available in the Little Miss Muffet Stamps store.  The cool thing is that Little Miss Muffet Stamps is going to donate $2.00 to Cassandra and Lydia's fundraiser for every PDP Ryker purchase!  If you care to contribute to the fundraiser, there is also information on the blog on how to donate directly to the American Heart Association via the girls' fundraiser pages.

One more thing before I show you my card with PDP Ryker.  If you purchase PDP Ryker, you'll also get two other special images.  They were actually drawn by Cassandra and Lydia themselves and entered into a T-Shirt Design Contest for next year's Jump Rope for Heart campaign.  Check out the blog to see what these two talented young ladies created!

Finally, here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Island Indigo and the patterned papers are from the My Mind's Eye Collectable "Notable" 6x6 pad.  Please don't laugh too hard or cringe, but I decided to give a go at giving Ryker a little face. My drawing skills definitely leave something to be desired, but I hope with some practice, I can get better.  The first time is always the worst, I guess.  I colored the whole image with my Copics.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  I finished my card with just a simple bow of Baker's Twine.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to visit the Little Miss Muffet blog and check out all the details of our special Super Saturday event!

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Fab 'n' Funky Challenge #200 (words)
Charisma Cardz Challenge #2 (it's a boy thing)

Alcohol Markers Challenge - The Outlawz

Good morning!  Happy Friday!  Hope you've had a great week and you have fun plans for the weekend!  It's been really cold for AL and it's supposed to continue over the weekend, so it will probably be an indoor weekend for me.  Before we get to that, I am here with my DT card for this week's Alcohol Marker Challenge at The Outlawz site.  The theme this week is "planes, trains and automobiles...".  We want to see any form of transportation on your project.  It can be anything you'd like, but please remember to show us coloring with alcohol markers (any brand) if you enter.

Here is my card:

A super simple card from me today.  My card base and mats are SU Groovy Guava and the patterned papers are from the Basic Grey What's Up 6x6 pad.  The adorable image is Up, Up and Away from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps!  I won it in a fabulous blog candy on Mindy's blog awhile back.  I think it was one of their original stamps!  I stamped her on MiC Blending Card and colored her with my Copics.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  The only other thing I added was a banner I cut using the Party Banner Metal Die from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.

Here is a close-up of the image:

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Alcohol Markers Challenge and check out the fantastic creations from the rest of the DT!  We hope you will play along!  Time is running out to get in the running for the fabulous prize for the month!  Mitzi, of AuroraWings is sponsoring our January challenges and she is offering our winner a $10 GC to purchase digis from her Etsy shop.  Her images are gorgeous!

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Little Miss Muffet - New Release

Good morning!  Happy Thursday!  Hope you've had a good week so far!  I'm here, as always on Thursday, with my Little Miss Muffet DT post.  We have another new release this week!  It's a Valentine's Day release and there are 5 new Bugaboo stamps, a new Polka Dot Pals digi and two more LMM stamps that are retiring as digis and available now as rubber stamps.  Check them all out in the Little Miss Muffet store.

Here is my card with one of the new Bugaboo stamps:

My card base and mats are SU Riding Hood Red and the patterned papers are all from the Recollections Valentine 6x6 pad.  The adorable image is Fancy Sunbonnet Love by Bugaboo for Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  I colored her with my Copics and added some pearl accents around the scalloped frame.   I added some Washi tape from Webster's Pages to the top panel below the image.  The sentiment hearts are from Create With TLC.  A few gems from my stash finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Little Miss Muffet blog and check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the Little Misses and our wonderful Guest Designer for January, Wendy!  Don't forget, there is still time to play along with our "what a fuss" challenge.  You have until Tuesday, January 28th at 11:55 PM CST to enter.

Happy Australia Day!

Hi there!  Happy Wednesday!  Did you think I got lost in my nice clean craft room?  I didn't. It's just been a really busy week and I haven't had time to do much crafting. I have a few DT posts coming up over the next few days, so I'll be around a lot more.  Anyway, I'm popping in really quickly to share a card I made for the Australia Day Contest on the Make it Crafty Facebook page.  I know.  I'm not Australian, but I do have the awesome Australia Outback Collection from Make it Crafty so how could I resist the challenge?  The only requirement was to create something that screams Australia!  I hope my card does!

Here it what I came up with:

There isn't much here except my scene.  The card base and mats are SU Ruby Red and the checked paper is from one of my My Mind's Eye 6x6 pads, but I can't remember which one.  I created the Australia scene with several elements from the Australia Outback Digi Collection.  I was super lucky to have won the whole collection when it debuted!  For my scene, I used Ayers Rock Outback, Eucalyptus Tree, Kangaroo and Joey, Kookabura, Echidna and Aussie Outback Sheila.  I merged the images and printed the merged image on MiC Blending Card.  I colored everything with my Copics.  The sentiment is computer-generated.  I didn't want to take away from the scene, so a few rustic gems finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Copic colors:
Sheila:
Skin: E50, E51, E21, E11, E13, R20
Hair: E35, YR23, YR27, R59
Clothes: BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78, R22, R35, R37, R46, R59, E31, E34, E57, E59
Ayers Rock: E11, E13, E15, E18
Ground: E41, E42, E43, E44
Ground Foliage: G21, G94, G99, YG97
Tree: E42, E43, E44, E47, G40, G43, G46, YG67
Kangaroo: E31, E33, E35, E37
Echidna: E41, E43, E47m E49
Kookabura: BG 72, BG75, E42, E44, E47

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back in the morning with my Little Miss Muffet DT post.

Have a great evening!

My Craft Room Redo

Hi there!  Happy Sunday!  Hope you've had a great weekend!  I don't have a card for you today.  Instead, I thought I would share a few photos of my freshly-painted and reorganized craft room. It's not entirely done, but I snapped a few pics while it is still relatively neat.  I am really lucky to have a whole spare bedroom to craft in.

I'll warn you ahead that the rest is very photo intensive.

OK, first thing inside the door is a rolling cart with punches, glitter, embossing powders and other miscellaneous stuff in it. Next to that, I stacked 4 Recollections 4-Drawer Storage Cubes which hold all my 12x12 paper.

Next is the one furniture piece I saved from before.  I couldn't part with this armoire because it offered great closed-in storage.  I put a Recollections 6-Cube Storage Unit inside with some Martha Stewart fabric drawers (from Home Depot) to keep miscellaneous stuff out of sight.  Hubby attached spice racks to the back of each door where I now store reinkers, Glimmer Mists, spray adhesives and a few other things. There are narrow shelves above, and drawers below, the center part you can see in the photo.

Next up is my sewing and beading corner.  I got this great Martha Stewart Kid's Craft Desk for that.  This, and the other Martha Stewart Craft Furniture you'll see, all came from Home Decorators Catalog. They had a great sale and free shipping over the holidays.

Now we'll move into the closet.  There was already shelving along both walls.  I use some of the shelves for storing my cling-foam stamps and my metal dies in plastic boxes with EZ Mount or EZ Magnetic Sheets.

I purchased three Wall Ribbon Holders from Go-Organize.com and mounted them on the closet wall.  I am going to make it work, but personally, I would not recommend these.  The dowels that came with them were too wide to fit through most of my ribbon spools, so I had to go out and buy narrower wooden dowels and paint them.  At least it's a better ribbon storage solution than the gutters I used to have under my desk!

Here is how I am storing my 6x6 and 8x8 paper pads.  I picked up some desktop file dividers from Office Max to help them stand up. Yes, I have a few pads - lol!  I labeled them on the outside and organized them by company as best as possible.

Still in the closet, I have two shelves with paper punches and various embellishments in plastic containers.  I forgot to take a picture, but I also have one shelf with all my buttons organized by color in glass apothecary jars from Hobby Lobby.

Moving back into the room, I have two Recollections Open Cubes.  I put one plastic bin of ribbon scraps and another with stickers and other embellishments into the cubes.  I have a small set of drawers on top with most of my decorative brads in them.

This is the first of two Martha Stewart File Consoles.  I keep all of my 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock in them.  They are mainly organized by color and company.  I have one drawer for the lightweight cardstock I prefer for my Cameo. I keep my paper trimmer and Scor-Pals here.

Next is my main desk where I color and assemble my cards.  I have Studio 3 Color Cubbies to store my Copics, refills and other markers.  I keep my liquid adhesives on the shelf right above me.  I've got lots of good Ott Lighting here.

I put together another Recollections 6-Cube Storage Unit with Martha Stewart fabric drawers.  These hold all my flowers, separated by company and/or type.

I have another Martha Stewart Craft Desk where I keep my Cuttlebug and Grand Caliber out. All my Stickles, Liquid Pearls and other things I use all the time are in the hutch in the back.  I have some more files and a bin of ribbon (bagged by color) under the desk.  Oh, and I have an ink pad holder down on the floor to the right.  I haven't decided where to put it yet.

The last stop is my second Martha Stewart File Console with more cardstock and some specialty papers in it. I leave my light tent set up here. I use two Ott lights with it.

Well, that's it! It's taken a lot of work to organize the space and make it more functional.  I had to do a lot of much-needed purging and that is always hard.  Now I can get back to my crafting, which was the point of the whole exercise!

I hope you you enjoyed the little tour.  Have a great day and see you soon!
