Card For a Couple of Challenges

Happy Monday morning!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I spent mine catching up on everything after being away last week.  I did manage to find a little time to stamp, though.  I made this card for two challenges: last week's Color Challenge (CC0405) on The Outlawz site and this week's Sketch Challenge (sk040911) on Paper Craft Planet.

Here ins the inspiration photo for the Outlawz color challenge:

You also had to add distressing for this challenge.

And here is the PCP sketch:

Here is my card for the challenges:

I started with a card base of SU Chocolate Chip and layered with Papertrey Aqua Mist.  The patterned papers are from the Pink Paislee Sweetness 6x6 pad.  I thought they were a great match to the bedding in the inspiration photo!  The only stamping was the sentiment from Gina K. Designs Hugs and Prayers set.  I distressed the edges of the patterned with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink and my thumbnail.  I added a butterfly that I punched with a Martha Stewart Punch and to which I added a few chocolate pearls.  It's  finished off with three Antique Copper brads from Making Memories.

Thanks for stopping by this morning!  Have a wonderful day!

Tuesday Trigger - Oh So Lovely

I'm back to share a card I made for the Tuesday Trigger challenge on Moxie Fab World.  I loved this week's inspiration photo with the aged chair and gorgeous blooms!

Here is this week's trigger:

I am also submitting my card to this week's Color Challenge (CC0308) on The Outlawz site.  The colors for the challenge were pink and orange and the "March Madness" extra was to include flowers.

Here is the inspiration photo:

Isn't that cake gorgeous?  I thought the colors of the flowers were similar to those in the Trigger bouquet.  For both, I was inspired by the colors and the flowers.

Here is my card:

I started with a card base of GKD Sweet Mango and layered with Bubblegum Pink. The dotted patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Sugar Rush 6x6 pad.  The cake image, by One8edegree Studios, was a freebie quite a while back from Aifactory. I colored it with Copic markers and added a few tiny coordinating gems.  The roses are a combination of Primas and Recollections (Michael's). I stamped the sentiment from the Gina K. Designs set, Hope Grows, with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Layering Weight White and created a little banner.  Tied it with a scrap of pink embroidery floss and that was it.

Thanks for having a look!  Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Play Date Cafe #71 - Color Splash

Good morning! I'm stopping in quick to show you the card I made for last week's challenge over at The Play Date Cafe (PDCC71).  It was Color Splash week - use only black and white a a "splash" of ONE additional color (player's choice this time).

I also wanted to submit my card to the Outlawz Color Challenge (CC0301) which was to use black and white and coral, plus add pearls.  This was the inspiration photo:

And here is my card:

I used coral as my splash of color so I could play in both challenges  My card base is GKD Black Onyx and I added a narrow mat of SU Cameo Coral.  The patterned paper is a free digi download from Jak Heath.  The bottom panel is embossed with the Cuttlebug Window Panes embossing folder. I added Queen & Co. pearls to each diamond.  The images are all from Gina K. Designs Fine Furnishings and Fine Furnishings Additions.  The chaise is stamped with Versamark and embossed with White EP, then cut out and popped up.  I stamped the accessories with Cameo Coral onto Layering Weight White and popped them up, too.

Thanks for dropping by my blog!  Have a great day!

Outlawz Color Challenge Card

I'm back to share a card I did for another of the challenges on The Outlawz site.  Today's challenge was a Color Challenge (CC0208) - to use Poppy, Turquoise and White.

Here is the inspiration photo they shared:

Here is my card with the colors:

My card base is SU Poppy Parade.  My layers are GKD Pure Luxury Turquoise Sea.  I used some beautiful DP from Prima's Strawberry Kisses Collection that had both primary colors.  I stitched around the background panels with my Janome Sew Mini.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Eclectic Summer Sayings set and it was stamped with Poppy Parade onto GKD Layering Weight White. The main image panel and mats were cut with Spellbinders Petite Ovals. I punched a butterfly using a Martha Stewart punch and added some Kaiser gems to his body.  Some turquoise Bloomers from Webster's Pages Spring 2010 collection and some buttons from my stash finished it.

Thanks for stopping by!  See you tomorrow!
