Just Breathe

Good morning!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!  I'm still not feeling great, but I am going to try to rest  today and shake this thing.  Before I do, I'm popping in to share a card I made for a couple of challenges.  It is for the new challenge at Guylou's Inimitability Blog, which is a sketch challenge, and this week's The Play Date Cafe Challenge #126 (color inspiration).

Here is the GI sketch:

And here is the PDCC color inspiration:

Here is my card:

I started with a card base of SU Cool Caribbean and layered with patterned papers from the Kaisercraft Chapter One 6.5 x 6.5 pad.   My image is Lotus Does Yoga from Guylou's Inimitability.  I printed her on Cryogen White and colored her with Copics.  The sentiment is from Paulette at Create With TLC.  A bit of gray satin ribbon, a shell button and a few pearls finished off my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful weekend and see you soon!

Happiness

Hi there!  I'm back with another quick post today to share my first DT card for Create With TLC.   My card is also for this week's challenge at The Play Date Cafe #113 (juniper, mint and vanilla) and the first challenge at the brand new The Crafter's Cafe Challenge (new year/new beginnings).

Here is the PDCC Color Story:

Here is my card:

My interpretation of "new year/new beginnings" for The Crafter's Cafe Challenge is that this is my first card for a new design team in a new year.  I started with a card base of SU Soft Sky and layered with Sage Shadow and patterned papers from the My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Portobello 6x6 pad.  My image is a digi from the new Words To Live By Set by Create With TLC.  It can be found in Paulette's store here.  I printed it on Cryogen White and colored with it with Copic markers.  I sponged around the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink to age it a little.  The image is matted with a Spellbinders Lacey Squares diecut.  I added lots of ivory pearls and a triple-loop bow of dyed seam binding to finish my card.

Thanks, as always, for visiting my blog!  I really appreciate it!  I'll be back bright and early tomorrow morning with my DT card for the Copic/Promarker Challenge on The Outlawz site.  Hope to see you then!

Can It Be? Another Christmas Card!

Hi there!  I know, I  know - lol!  I was sure I was done, then I remembered another card I needed to take with a gift to an appointment this weekend, so I ran into my craft room and made yet another.  I called upon a couple of challenges I didn't get to yet for my design.  First, it is for the Monthly Contest over at The Stamping Boutique Challenge Blog (winter or holiday).  It is also for this week's Just Us Girls Challenge #115 (a color challenge) and this week's challenge in The Play Date Cafe #112.   It was perfect because the JUGS challenge and the PDCC challenge were to use nearly the same colors.

Here is the JUGS Inspiration:

And here is the PDCC Color Story:

Here is my card for the challenges:

I started with a card base of GKD Lipstick Red and layered with patterned paper from the K & Co. Glad Tidings Die Cut Mat pad.  The colors were perfect!  My image is a digi from The Stamping Boutique called Sledding Snowman.  I won this image during a blog hop a couple of months ago.  I printed it on Cryogen White and colored with Copics.  I added Glossy Accents to the Christmas lights around the border and some Stickles here and there for some sparkle.  The sentiment is from Paulette at Create With TLC. It was a freebie awhile back - not sure if it's in the store now.   I also colored it with Copics and added some Ice Glitter to the snowman's cap and some Stickles to the snowflakes.  I didn't add any extra embellishments - I thought there was enough going on with the cute images and the DP.

Many thanks for stopping by and checking out yet another Christmas card.  I'll be back tomorrow with my DT card for Friday's Copic/Promarker Challenge on The Outlawz and that will be about it for me until after Christmas.

Peace On Earth

Good morning (I sure hope it's still morning)!  I SO shouldn't be near the computer as I have so much still left to do for the holidays, but I wanted to pop in really quickly to share a card I made for a few challenges I like to do.  I have really used the challenges this week to give me the mojo to finish my last minute cards!  As soon as I finish this post, I am off to the post office and get these puppies in the mail!  My card is for Gingerloft Challenge 30 (Christmas and winter), Digital Tuesday #141 (winter wonderland), Joan's Gardens' Weekly Challenge (make a quick Christmas card - anything goes) and finally for The Play Date Cafe #111 (black and white with a splash of teal).

Here is the PDCC Color Story:

Here is my card for the challenges:

I made a super quick CAS Christmas card.  I started with a card base of GKD Heavy Weight White.  My gorgeous image is from Gingerloft called Winter Trees.  I printed it on Cryogen White and lightly shaded the main tree with a touch of teal using Copics.  I added a bunch of Star Dust Stickles to the snow to further accent the splash of teal.  I matted the image with SU Bermuda Bay and silver mirror cardstock then popped it up on foam tape.  The sentiment is from Flourishes The First Noel set.  That is it - another for my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I'll be out most of the rest of the day, so have a good one and see you soon!

The Play Date Cafe #101

Hi there!  Hope you've had a great week and you are looking forward to a nice fall weekend!  I know I am!  I'm popping in with a quick post to share the card I made for The Play Date Cafe Challenge #101

Here is this week's color story:

And here is my card:

I always have trouble with masculine cards so I took advantage of the rich colors in the inspiration photo to make a much needed male birthday card.  I started with a 5 1/2 square card base of GKD Smoky Slate and layered with patterned papers from the Basic Grey Oxford and My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Sunshine 6x6 pads.  I stamped the image from an old SU set called Thinking of Father with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Cryogen White and colored with Copic markers. I sponged around the image panel with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink to give an aged look.  Some Glossy Accents on the watch face and glasses and a bit of twine finished my simple card.

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back tomorrow with this week's Card Patterns Sketch Challenge card!  Have a great evening!

Falling For Fall

Good morning!  Happy Friday!  I don't know about you, but I am loving the cooler days and crisp fall evenings lately!  It was my first summer in Alabama and it was hot, hot, hot!  Fall is ever so welcome this year!  Anyway, I'm popping in this morning to share my DT card for this week's Copic/Promarker Challenge on The Outlawz site.  This week's theme is "Anything Goes".  My card is also for a couple other of my favorite challenges - Mo's DP2 Challenge #101, which was to use autumn colors and The Play Date Cafe Challenge #100.

Here is the color story for PDCC100:

Here is my card for all three challenges:

I started with a 5 1/2 " square card base of Papertrey Orange Zest and layered with Papertrey Summer Sun and New Leaf.  My dotted patterned papers are from the K & Co. Kelly Panacci Halloween collection. My cute Mo's image is called "Raking".  You can find it in Mo's store here.  I printed him on Cryogen Iridescent and colored with Copic markers.  I lightly sponged in a cloudy sky with SU Soft Sky and the ground with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink.  Some rick rack, a button die cut and a tiny raffia bow finished my card.

Be sure to visit the Copic/Promarker Challenge and feast your eyes on the amazing cards made by my CPC teammates and Dawn, our outstanding guest designer for September!  This week's challenge will run a few days longer than usual because the next CPC challenge will be for The Outlawz 1000 Member Party!  We are gearing up for one incredible celebration!  You can check out all the details on main page of The Outlawz site!  I assure you this is a party you won't want to miss! Mark your calendars for the Monday, October 3 at 12:01 AM when all the fun and games begin!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

The Play Date Cafe #98

Hello, there!  What a busy weekend it's been!  This is my first chance to get to the computer all weekend!  Before I go get ready for another busy week, I wanted to stop in and share the card I made for this week's color challenge at The Play Date Cafe.  The colors this week were teal, mustard and dark blue.

Here is the inspiration photo:

Here is the card I made for the challenge:

I must admit I was a little intimidated by this color combo.  I couldn't quite figure out at first how to incorporate the navy/dark blue. I started with a card base of the beautiful new SU In Color, Island Indigo.  I layered with patterned papers from the DCWV Mariposa 12x12 pad (top panel) and the Basic Grey Black Tie collection (bottom panel). I stamped the label frame from Gina K, Designs Lovely Labels 2 set with Broken China Distress Ink and cut it out with Spellbinders Labels Fourteen Nestabilities.  The sentiment from Gina K. Designs Hugs and Prayers set was stamped in the frame with Chipped Sapphire DI.  I colored some adhesive pearls a mustard color with a Copic marker.  I finished my card wth a double loop bow of navy satin and a Prima flower I airbrushed to match the mustard shade.

Thanks for stopping by!   I hope to see you soon!

Card For A Few Challenges

Hello, there!  Hope you've had a good week so far!  I am still scrambling like crazy to get everything done that I need to and still find time for a little cardmaking.  I managed to find a tiny window of creating time today so I made a card that combines a few of my favorite challenges.  First, it is for this week's Mo's DP2 Challenge #90.  Cathy is our hostess and she challenged us to create a "vintage" card with distressing and lace.  My card is also for the current Copic Coloring Challenge on Suzanne Dean's Color Me Creative Classroom site which was to color folds, pleats and/or ruffles.  I used the July 2011 Sketch For You To Try from Jen Del Muro's blog for my layout and the colors from The Play Date Cafe Challenge #89 - Mint, Buttercream and Taupe.
Here is the July SFYTT:

And here is the inspiration photo for The Play Date Cafe challenge:

Here is my card for all the challenges:

I started with a card base of SU Sage Shadow and layered with papers from the Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden 6x6 pad.  These papers had the perfect combo of colors for the PDCC challenge.  My Mo's image is Wednesday's Child. What a drama queen, yes?? Love her! Her clothing was full of flowing folds that I thought would work great for the CMC Fold, Pleats and Ruffles challenge.  I colored her with Copic markers and added Polar White Flower Soft to her robe to look like fur trim.  I airbrushed the Prima flowers and ivory lace with Copic marker Y21 (Buttercup Yellow).  The main image panel was ink distressed with Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.  A few taupe adhesive pearls finished my card.
Thanks so much for dropping by my blog!  Your visits mean a lot to me!

Card For A Few Challenges

This is my second post today.  I'm back to share a card I made for a few challenges I like to do.  First, it is for The Play Date Cafe Challenge #81.  It is also for the May Sketch For You To Try on Jen Del Muro's blog.  It also fits with this week's Greeting Card Challenge (GC051611) on The Outlawz site which was a recipe challenge to include 2 patterns, 2 flowers and 2 bling, at least.  Finally, it is for the Mix It Up Monday Challenge (STVMONJW1) on StampTV - Focus on Flowers - which was to use either a main image or patterned paper with flowers.  Phew!

Here is the PDCC Inspiration photo:

And here is the May Sketch For You To Try:

Here is my card for all the challenges:

I started with a card base of GKD heavy base weight white CS.  My patterned papers are from the Bo Bunny Alissa and Peacock Lane collections. I stamped the floral wreath from Gina K. Designs Wreath of Wishes with Memento Tuxedo Black onto heavy weight CS and colored with Copic markers.  The sentiment was also stamped onto heavy white CS and popped up.  I added some soft gray satin ribbon and two Bo Bunny flowers. I finished it with gray pearls from Basic Grey in the flower centers and corners.

Thanks for coming by again!  See you tomorrow for more card creations from the Heartfelt Creations Design Team!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #78 (and more)

Good afternoon!  I hope you've had a great day so far!  It's been a busy one for me, but I still wanted to pop in and share a card I made for a couple of challenges.  First, it is for this week's challenge in The Play Date Cafe.  Here is the inspiration photo for the challenge:

My card is also for this week's challenge on Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Blog.  The theme this week was "Carnival".  The theme tied in with a fun blog hop - the Mo's and Zo's Carnival Hop - where the amazingly talented design teams from Mo's Digital Pencil and Zoe's Make it Crafty got together and shared their creations inspired by the carnival.    You'll definitely want to check this out!

Anyway, here is my card for both challenges:

I started with a card base of Papertrey Pure Poppy and layered with SU Cool Caribbean.  I found these fun patterned papers from Daisy Bucket (Love You and Playful Petals) in my stash and they matched so well with the PDCC colors and patterns!  I merged the Candy Cart image from Make it Crafty (flipped horizontal) with the super cute Cotton Candy image from Mo's. Cotton Candy is a very special image - if you purchase the image from Mo's Digital Pencil during the Carnival Hop, Mo and Zoe are donating 100% of the proceeds to the US and UK Make A Wish Foundations!  How cool is that?  Back to my card - the images are colored with Copic markers.  I added some Red, Aqua and Pink Stickles to the candy cart and lightly sponged some clouds in the background. A couple of flowers and a bow from my stash finished it.

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back soon with some other things I've been working on!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #77 (and more)

Good afternoon!  I hope it's as gorgeous where you live as it is here in NC!  I think spring is finally here to stay!  I am popping in to share a card I made for a few challenges this week.  First, it is for the Play Date Cafe Challenge #77.  Here is the inspiration photo that Ruby had for us this week:

My card is also for Mo's DP2 Challenge #78.  Dorcas is our hostess again  this week and the theme is "Start of Something New", interpreted anyway you like as long as you use a Mo's image.  Finally, my card is for this week's Sketch Challenge (SC0413) on The Outlawz site.  Here is the sketch:

And here is my card for the three challenges:

I was inspired by the colors, the clean lines and the white brick wall in the PDCC inspiration photo.  I started with a card base of Kraft and layered with SU Wild Wasabi.  I embossed a panel of heavy weight white CS with the Cuttlebug Brickyard embossing folder.  My fun image is Hoping from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I colored her with Copic markers and highlighted with a Sharpie White Paint Pen.  I added a little Glossy Accents to the "glass" on the scale.  The sentiment was computer generated.  A few brads and some Wasabi stitched ribbon finished my card.  This is going to a friend who signed up for a "Biggest Loser" contest at her work.  That's my "start of something new" for Mo's - a new diet!  I think my friend will get a kick out of this image (which reminds me a lot of both of us - lol)!

Have a great day! See you soon!

Play Date Cafe #76 (and more)

Good evening!  This is my second post today.  I am sharing the card I made for last week's challenge on The Play Date Cafe (#76).

Here is the inspiration photo for the challenge:

My card is also for last week's Prismas and Other Mediums Challenge (PM0407) on The Outlawz site.  The theme was "Spring Cleaning" - we were to use stuff from our stash.

Here is my card for both challenges:

I started with a card base of Papertrey Enchanted Evening and layered with New Leaf.  I grabbed the patterned paper from my scrap bag - it is Paper House Productions Renoir Seascape.  I was delighted to find a scrap with the same colors as the inspiration photo!  I stamped the Heartfelt Creations Dutch Oval Iris with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Cryogen White Iridescent and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  The background is sponged with Memento Summer Sky.  The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations Inspire Me Sentiments.  It was stamped onto Cryogen White and cut out with one of the Spellbinders Fancy Tags.  I sponged the tag with Summer Sky while it was still in the die.  Added a scrap of sky blue ribbon  and a couple of adhesive gems from my stash to finish it.

I truly appreciate you visiting!  Have a great evening!

Card For A Few Challenges

Good morning!  I hope your weekend is starting off well!  I am dropping in with a quick post to share a card I made for a few of my favorite challenges.  First it is for this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge #75 - blue, pink and silver.

Here is the color inspiration for the challenge:

My card is also for this week's Mo's DP2 Challenge #76, where the theme was "Buttons 'n Bows" - you had to use at least one of each, along with a Mo's image.  Finally, I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #184 for my layout.
Here are the Mojo sketches:

Here is my card for all three challenges:

Obviously, I chose the square version of the sketch.  I started with a square base card of GKD Heavy Base Weight White.  My blue/green background DP is from the Basic Grey Fruitcake collection. The plaid and pink papers are from the Basic Grey Olivia 6x6 pad.  My Mo's image is Checking FB.  I love this image - maybe because it looks like such a familiar scene - lol!  I colored her with Copics and highlighted with Spica pens. The sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs set, Fine Furnishings Additions.  It is embossed with silver EP.  I added two bows, one of pink ribbon and one of metallic silver cord.  A coordinating Basic Grey button finished it.

Thanks for dropping by!  Have a great weekend!

The Play Date Cafe #74 (and more)

Good afternoon!  I've been having such a good time visiting with my dear friends from Michigan that I haven't had much time for card-making this weekend.  My friend is also a stamper so we grabbed a little crafting time this afternoon!  This is the card I made for this week's challenge over in the Play Date Cafe (PDCC74).

Here is the inspiration photo for the challenge:

My card is also for the Prismas and Other Mediums Challenge (PM0324) on The Outlawz site where the theme was "sparkle and shine", interpreted any way you wanted.  I used this week's Sketch Spotlight Challenge (STVSKSP18) on StampTV for my layout.

Here is the STV sketch:

And here is my card for the challenges:

I started with a card base of SU Pacific Point.  I added a of GKD Layering Weight White that was embossed with the Cuttlebug Grace's Frame embossing folder.  I embossed a small panel with the CB Window Panes EF and layered that on Pacific Point.  My image is from the Gina K. Designs set, Seeds of Kindness and I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.  I added a little sparkle with Spica pens.  The sentiments are also from Seeds of Kindness.  The image and sentiment panels were cut with Spellbinders Classic Circle Nestabilities.  I added some purple ribbon and gems (more sparkle) from my stash to finish it.

Hope you had a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #73

Good morning!  I hope your weekend is off to a great start!  We had record high temperatures here yesterday (mid-80s) and although today is not supposed to be quite as warm as that, it is supposed to be a beautiful day!  I'm looking forward to getting outside to enjoy it!  Before I do, I have a card to share that I made for this week's challenge over in The Play Date Cafe.

Here is the inspiration photo:

My card is also for tthis week's Copics/Promarkers Challenge (CBC0318) on The Outlawz site, which was to make a card with a Spring or Mother's Day theme.

Here is my card for the challenges:

As soon as I saw the PDCC inspiration photo, I knew I had the perfect patterned paper in my stash.  I used a couple of different patterns from the Cosmo Cricket True Love collection.  My image is a digi from Digital Package #2 set that was generously provided as part of the second fund-raising effort for fellow stamper, Katie Renz.  Check out the Help For Katie blog for more information about Katie and the fund-raising efforts on her behalf.  This beautiful image called Floral Thoughts was designed by Trudy Sjolander of True =D Doodle Designs.  I colored it with Copic markers then sponged a little Tim Holtz Scattered Straw Distress Ink around it.  The sentiment is from the JustRite Happy Everything Tag kit.  A silk ribbon bow finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your weekend!
