Another Fine Mess

Good morning!  Happy Tuesday!  Hope your week got off to a great start!  We had a lot of strong thunderstorms last night, so I unplugged my computers and did other things instead of crafting and blogging.  Today, it's hot and humid, but sunny!   I've got lots to do today, but before I get at it, I'm popping in to share the card I made for a few challenges.  It is for Card Patterns Sketch#169, the Copic Challenge #45 over at Suzanne Dean's Color Me Creative Classroom (babies) and Craft Your Passion Challenge #114 (anything goes).

Here is the Card Patterns sketch:

And here is my baby-themed card:

I started with a card base of SU Pumpkin Pie and layered with patterned papers from the Kaisercraft Devonshire 6.5 x 6.5 pad.  My adorable baby image is called Buskettie from Mo's Digital Pencil.  You can find it in Mo's store here.  I printed it on Copic X-Press It Blending Card and colored with my Copics.

Here is a close-up of the little cutie:

The sentiment is from Paulette at Create With TLC.  A double-looped gingham bow and a flower button from my stash finished off my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your day and hope to see you soon!

Man At Work

Hi there!  Happy Monday!  Hope your week is off to a great start!  My day started with a huge thunderstorm and pouring rain!  At least we didn't lose power like yesterday!  Anyway, I'm popping in to share a card I made for a few challenges.  It is for Card Patterns Sketch #168, Incy Wincy Designs (blue and black and a masculine sentiment), Love to Create Challenge #18 (Father's Day or card for special guy), Craft Your Passion Challenge #113 (use chevrons) and Tuesday Throwdown #100 (masculine).

Here is the CP sketch:

Here is my card:

I started with a card base of SU Basic Black and layered with blue and black chevron patterned paper from the Authentique Journey 6x6 pad.  I used another paper from the same pad for the half-circle at the top which I cut and matted using Spellbinders Grand Circle dies.  My masculine image is Man At Work from Just Inklined.  I printed it on Cryogen White and colored it with my Copics.  I sponged in a cloudy sky and added a few white highlights to the water with my Sharpie White Paint Pen.  The fun sentiment is from Create With TLC.  Some Marina Mist ribbon and a few black buttons from my stash finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day and hope you'll drop by again soon!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #168

Hi there!  Hope you had a great day!  I'm back with a second post today to share the card I made for the Timeless Tuesday Challenge #168 on Flourishes blog.  The theme was "pink" - main color had to be pink.

Here is my pink card:

I started with a card base of GKD Innocent Pink and layered with patterned papers from the Echo Park Victoria Garden 6x6 pad.  The image is from Flourishes A Year In Flowers 2.  I stamped it on Cryogen White and colored it with my Copics.  It was cut out with Spellbinders Classic Circles and matted with a Spellbinders Lacey Circles diecut.  I added some pearls around the scallops.  The sentiment is from an old SU set.  I finished the card with some sheer ribbon and another white pearl for the center of the bow.

I am also entering my card in the following challenges: Love to Create Challenge #14 (Mom or special lady), Tuesday Throwdown #97 (motherly love), Through The Craftroom Door Challenge #25 (Happy Mother's Day, option to add pearls) and Card Patterns Sketch #164.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great evening and hope to see you again soon!

Mo's Challenge #131 - Flowers

Good morning!  It's Thursday again!  One more day until the weekend, but more importantly, time for another fun Mo's Challenge! Pat is our hostess this week and the theme is "flowers".  Who doesn't love flowers, especially this time of year?

Here is my card:

I started with a card base of SU Blush Blossom (thanks, JoAnn!) and layered with 2 patterned papers from the My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart Be Happy 6x6 pad cut on the diagonal.  My sweet Mo image is Nelly.  You can find her in Mo's store here.  I printed her on Cryogen White and colored her with my Copics.  I added a bit of Petal Pink Liquid Pearls and Star Dust Stickles here and there for some sparkle and shine.  I also added Bisque Liquid Pearls around the scalloped frame.  Two rows of pale aqua pearls and a few Wild Orchid Crafts flowers finished my card.

Oh, and I used Card Patterns Sketch #161 for my layout: I flipped it one turn for my card:

Thanks for visiting!  Be sure to stop by the Mo's Challenge blog and feast your eyes on the gorgeous, flowery creations from my wonderful teammates!  We hope you will be inspired to play along with us this week!  We always love seeing your beautiful projects and who knows? You could be the lucky winner of a GC to Mo's store!

Have a great day and see you soon!

Mo's DP2 Challenge - Button & Bows

Good morning!  Happy Thursday!  My Thursdays always start off well, because Thursday means it's time for another fun Mo's Challenge!  I'm going to be out most of the day, so I'm getting here early to share my DT card for this week's challenge.  Debbie is our hostess this week and she chose the theme of "buttons & bows".  Fun, huh?

Here is my card:

I started with a card base of Papertrey Aqua Mist and layered with patterned papers from the October Afternoon Fly A Kite 8x8 pad.  My adorable Mo's image is Singin' In The Rain.  She's brand new and can be found in Mo's store here.  I Printed her on Cryogen White and colored her with Copics.  I added a bit of Aqua Stickles to the umbrella and some Glossy Accents to her cute little rain boots.  The sentiment is from Paulette at Create With TLC.  I added two bows and a button from my stash and that was it.  Oh, and I used this week's Card Patterns Sketch #156 for my layout.  The center circle in the background is a paper doily, also from my stash.  Here is the CP sketch:

You Rock!

Hi there!  Did you have a good weekend?  It was busy here, but busy in a good way.  We made great progress on a few home improvement projects that needed doing.  Not a lot of time for crafting, but I managed to squeeze one card in.  I needed a masculine thank you card - not the easiest to create, but I had fun with this one!

I used Card Patterns Sketch #155 for my layout:

Here is my card:

I started with a card base of GKD Black Onyx and layered with patterned papers from the Basic Grey Oxford 6x6 pad.  My fun image is "Air Guitar" from Mo's Digital Pencil.  You can find it in Mo's store here.  I printed him on Cryogen White and colored him with Copics.  Both sentiments are from Paulette at Create With TLC.  I colored the guitar with Spica pens and added a button for some detail.  Some stitched ribbon and a few more buttons from my stash finished off my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope to see you again soon!

Heartless

Hi there!  Happy Saturday!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!  It's been a busy day for me, but I'm sitting down for a minute and sharing the card I made for a couple of challenges I try to do.  First, it's for The Corrosive Challenge #142 (Love Bites...).  It is also for this week's Card Patterns Sketch Challenge #152.

Here is the Card Patterns sketch:

And here is my card for the challenges:

I started with a card base of GKD Black Onyx and layered with patterned papers from the Basic Grey Olivia 6x6 Pad.  My fun image is Heartless from Mo Manning.  You can find her in Mo's store here.  I printed her on Cryogen White and colored her with Copics.  The sentiment is from the LOL Tag Lines set from There She Goes Stamps.  I thought both the image and the sentiment would work well for the "love bites" theme.  Some stitched ribbon, a button and a bit of red Bakers' twine finished off my simple card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend and hope to see you soon!

Card Patterns #146

Hi there!  Happy Saturday!  I don't know about you, but I am still scrambling around trying to get everything done before next week!  DH and I have already been out for 3 hours today!  But I am back now to share my DT card for Card Patterns Sketch #146.  This post is bittersweet as it is my last week as part of the Card Patterns DT.  It has been a wonderful 6 months and I will miss my teammates a lot!  I will still be playing along every week, that's for sure!  The Card Patterns team is taking a couple weeks off, so this is the last sketch for 2011.  The challenges will be back up and running in January.

On to this week's challenge.  Our sponsor this week is Catherine Pooler, Independent Stampin' Up Demonstrator.  Here is the sketch:

Here is my take on the sketch:

I started with a card base of SU Pale Plum and layered with Very Vanilla and patterned papers from the SU Springtime Vintage Designer Series Paper collection generously provided to the DT by Catherine.  My image is from a very old SU set called See With The Heart.  I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Very Vanilla and colored very lightly with my Copics.  I sponged here and there with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  It was cut out with a Spellbinders Classic Circles die and matted with a Spellbinders Lacey Circles die.  The sentiment is also from a very old SU set called Happy Birthday Frame.  It was cut out and matted with Spellbinders Tags Shape 3.  I triple-loop bow of narrow silk ribbon and a small shimmery flower from my stash finished my card.

I'm also submitting my card to Tuesday Throwdown #78 where the theme was "for someone special".

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to visit the Card Patterns Sketch blog and check out the gorgeous creations from my wonderful and amazingly talented teammates! Will miss you, ladies! We hope you'll be inspired to play along with us!  The challenge goes an extra two weeks so you have plenty of time to create your card!

Have a great day!

Card Patterns #145

Hi there!  Happy Saturday!  I hope your weekend is off to a great start!  DH and I are headed out for the day, but before we leave, I wanted to share my DT card for this week's Card Patterns Sketch Challenge. This week we are being sponsored by Monica Weaver at Add A Little Dazzle.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I started with a card base of GKD Heavy Weight Ivory and layered with panels cut from metal sheets in Poison Ivy, Gold Nugget and Scarlet Red that Monica generously provided to the DT for our samples. I punched the border of the gold layer with a SU Scallop Border Punch.  I embossed the red layer with a Sizzix Large Damask embossing folder.  I cut a frame for the image panel from the Gold Nugget metal sheet using a Spellbinders Lacey Circle die.  My image is a precolored digi from Paulette at Create With TLC.  I printed it on layering weight ivory and cut it out and popped it up.   A few red gems, some lace trim and a metallic red ribbon bow finished my card.  It sure was hard to get a decent photo with all the shiny metal!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Card Patterns Sketch blog and check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of my amazingly-talented teammates, our sponsor, Monica, and our wonderful Guest Designer, Jinny!  We hope you will be inspired to play along with us!

Have a terrific day and hope to see you soon!

Card Patterns #144 (and more)

Hi there!  Happy Saturday!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!  DH and I went out for an early breakfast then ran a bunch of errands so we wouldn't have to face the crowds later.  I'm hoping I'll be able to spend some time in the craft room this afternoon!  Before that, I am popping in to share my DT card for this week's Card Patterns Sketch.  This week we are again being sponsored by Kim at My Craft Spot.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I started with a card base of GKD Fresh Asparagus and layered with patterned papers from the Graphic 45 Christmas Past 8x8 pad.   My vintage image is a digi called A Day of Skating from Create With TLC.  It was offered as a freebie during last week's Create With TLC Winter Wonderland Blog Hop.  I printed it on Cryogen White and colored with Copics.  I added a bit of Ice Glitter to the snowy hills in the background.  The sentiment is from the Shiny and Bright set, also from Create With TLC.  The image and sentiment panels were cut with Spellbinders Petite Oval Nestabilities.  I added some gold pearl accents around the scalloped frames with Gold Liquid Pearls.  I used some of the beautiful hand-dyed ribbon and Baker's Twine from My Craft Spot that Kim generously provided to the DT.  An old button from my stash finished my vintage Christmas card.

My card is also for two other challenges I like to do: this week's Color Throwdown #170:

and the current challenge at Through The Craftroom Door #15 (holiday theme and use at least three embellishments on your project - I used seam binding, Baker's Twine, glitter, Liquid Pearls and a button).

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Card Patterns Sketch blog to see the gorgeous creations from the rest of the amazing DT, Kim (our sponsor) and our wonderful Guest Designer, Diana!  We hope you'll be inspired to play along with us this week!

Card Patterns Sketch #143

Hi there!  Hope your weekend if off to a great start!  DH and I did an early trip to the mall to get all the gift cards our nieces want and a few things for my Mom.  It was amazingly quiet after all the craziness yesterday!  We were so glad we held off until today!  It's a beautiful, balmy day and we got to sit outside for lunch!  How good is that at the end of November??

Anyway, now that I'm back, I'm popping in to share my DT card for this week's Card Patterns Sketch.  This time we are being sponsored by The Craft's Meow.  You'll definitely want to check out all the wonderful stamps and supplies in The Craft's Meow store!

Here is Sketch #143:

Here is my take on the sketch:

The DT was generously provided with some beautiful stamps from The Craft's Meow for our samples.  I used one of the ornaments and a sentiment from the Vintage Ornaments set. I started with a card base of GKD Lipstick Red and layered with patterned papers from the Melissa Frances Deck The Halls 6x6 pad.  I added some lace trim, dyed seam binding and a few pearls for my embellishments.  I stamped the ornament onto GKD Ivory with Memento Bamboo Leaves and stamped the sentiment inside with Memento Rhubarb Stalk.  I popped up the ornament on a small doily made with the Cheery Lynn Polynesian Sails Oval die.  A bit of Baker's Twine on the ornament finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Card Patterns blog and check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the DT, Lynn Miller (TCM DT) and our wonderful Guest Designer, Fran.   We hope you'll be inspired to play along with us this week!  We always love to see your creations!

Card Patterns #142

Hello!  I hope your weekend is off to a great start!  If you are looking for my card for the CSS Alumni Blog Hop, please scroll down one post.  I'm popping in quick to share my DT card for this week's Card Patterns Sketch.  This week, we are being sponsored again by Catherine Pooler, Independent Stampin' Up Demonstrator.

Here is my take on the sketch:

Catherine generously provided the DT with some beautiful Stampin' Up products to use for our cards.  I started with a card base of Garden Green and layered with Early Expresso and papers from the Woodland Walk Designer Series Papers pack.  I stamped the bird from SU Friends 24-7 onto Very Vanilla with Memento Rich Cocoa and Tuxedo Black and colored it lightly with Copic markers.  It was cut out and popped up on foam tape.  I stamped the sentiment, also from Friends 24-7, with Early Expresso onto Very Vanilla and cut it out and matted it with Spellbinders Scallop and Classic Circle Nestabilities.  I punched the Vanilla border with the SU Scallop Trim Border Punch and added some Early Expresso ribbon.  A few vanilla pearls finished my card.

Card Patterns #141

Hi there!  Happy Saturday!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!  DH and I have decided to spend the day out, so before we go, I'm popping in to share my DT card for this week's Card Patterns Sketch.  Our sponsor this week is My Memories.   You'll definitely want to check out their My Memories Suite software for digital scrapbooking and their digital scrapbook kits.  The DT was generously provided with the software to play around with, so my "card" this week was actually created digitally using the My Memories Suite software.

And here is my project for the sketch:

I used background papers and elements from the Magic Moments kit available from My Memories.  I arranged all of the elements using the My Memories Suite software.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Card Patterns Sketch blog and check out the fabulous projects the rest of the DT created.  We've also included a little review of the My Memories Suite software, if you are interested. Our wonderful Guest Designer, Lenet, created a gorgeous card with this week's sketch.  You won't want to miss any of it!  We hope you'll be inspired to join us this week!

Have a great weekend!  Hope to see you again soon!
