Just Us Girls, Mojo and More

Good morning!  I've got a card to share today that I made for a couple of fun challenges.  First, it is for this week's challenge over at the Just Us Girls Challenge blog ( JUGS85), which was a color challenge to use all the colors of the rainbow for our card.  I used Mojo Monday Sketch #192 for my layout.  Finally, my card is for this week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge (MMTPT147) on Splitcoast Stampers.  The theme for our tea party this week was anything "fishy".  We are sending our cards to a 10 year old boy named Colton who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma.  Colton loves fishing and he was also asked to be the Grand Marshal for the Strawberry Festival Parade in his town, hence the fishing theme and strawberries.  You can read more about the card drive for Colton here.

Here is the color inspiration for the JUGS challenge:

And here is the Mojo sketch:

Here is my card for the challenges:

I started with a card base of GKD Green Apple and layered with fun patterned paper from the K & Co. Citronella 12x12 pad that has every color of the rainbow in it.  The cute digi, called Fishing Days, is from Sassy Cheryl's.  I received it as part of the original Help For Katie fundraising effort.  It is still available here.  I printed it on Cryogen White Iridescent CS and colored it with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Spring Mix set. It is cut and framed with Spellbinders Scallop and Classic Circle dies. I cut out some little strawberries from October Afternoon's Fly A Kite patterned paper and added them around my card to finish it off.

Thanks for coming by to check out my blog!  Have a great day and hope to see you soon!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #73

Good morning!  I hope your weekend is off to a great start!  We had record high temperatures here yesterday (mid-80s) and although today is not supposed to be quite as warm as that, it is supposed to be a beautiful day!  I'm looking forward to getting outside to enjoy it!  Before I do, I have a card to share that I made for this week's challenge over in The Play Date Cafe.

Here is the inspiration photo:

My card is also for tthis week's Copics/Promarkers Challenge (CBC0318) on The Outlawz site, which was to make a card with a Spring or Mother's Day theme.

Here is my card for the challenges:

As soon as I saw the PDCC inspiration photo, I knew I had the perfect patterned paper in my stash.  I used a couple of different patterns from the Cosmo Cricket True Love collection.  My image is a digi from Digital Package #2 set that was generously provided as part of the second fund-raising effort for fellow stamper, Katie Renz.  Check out the Help For Katie blog for more information about Katie and the fund-raising efforts on her behalf.  This beautiful image called Floral Thoughts was designed by Trudy Sjolander of True =D Doodle Designs.  I colored it with Copic markers then sponged a little Tim Holtz Scattered Straw Distress Ink around it.  The sentiment is from the JustRite Happy Everything Tag kit.  A silk ribbon bow finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your weekend!

The Outlawz Copic/Promarker Challenge

Hi, there!  I'm here to share a card I made for last Friday's Copic/Promarker Challenge (CBC0211) on The Outlawz site.  I'm having so much fun with these challenges! The challenge was to make a card which demonstrates shading and highlighting with markers.

Here is my card for the challenge:

My card base is SU Poppy Parade and my patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Olivia 6x6 pad.  I chose to color one of the images I received as part of the Help For Katie fundraising effort on Jak Heath's blog.  This adorable image is from Mo's Digital Pencil and is called Sprout.  I shaded and highlighted the image using my Copics.
Here are the colors I used:

I finished my card with some Baja Breeze striped ribbon and a Basic Grey Olivia button.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great evening!

Jak Heath Thank You Card Challenge

This is my second post today.  This time I am sharing a card I made for a few different challenges.  First, it is for a Thank You Card Challenge that Jak Heath is having on her blog as part of the Help For Katie fundraising event she has held since January.  For more information about this effort, click on the Help For Katie blinkie on my sidebar or visit here.  There is still time to donate to help Katie.
Our card for the challenge had to feature one of the Help For Katie images received when you made a donation.
I chose the beautiful Magnolia image for my card.

My card base is SU Pink Pirouette and the DP is from the Basic Grey Sugared 6 x 6 pad.  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.  I added a simple sentiment from Gina K. Designs Faithful Florals set and that was it.  I wanted the beautiful image to be the main focal point of my card.
My card is also for a couple of other challenges: the Color Challenge on Paper Craft Planet (pcpcolor89, week2) - Pinks, Cream and White - and the Prismas and Other Mediums Challenge (PM0210) on The Outlawz site - to use any coloring medium except Copic or Promarkers and include spots or stripes or any type.

Thanks for dropping by!  Have a great day!
