Family Is Best

Hi again!  I'm dropping in for just a quick second to share I card I made today.  If you are looking for my Heartfelt Creations Design Team Alumni post, click here.  You only have another couple of hours to comment to be in the running for the $25 GC to the HC store.  Winner will be announced tomorrow by noon.

Here  is the card I made for the CAS Challenge #1 on the Jackson Digital Expressions blog.  The theme was Anything Goes with a twist - to use a family theme.

Here is my card:

I kept it as CAS as I could and I did use the family theme.  I started with a card base of GKD Turquoise Sea and layered with a panel of Layering Weight White that I embossed with the SU Tulip Border folder.  My image is Sisterhood by Robert Jackson.  You can find it in Robert's store here.  It was the image I chose for winning last week's challenge!  I printed it on Copic XPress-It Blending Card and colored with my Copics.  I 'm still trying to get the hang of coloring with this new paper.  I added a bunch of Stickles and Liquid Pearls to their hats and jewelry for some added sparkle.  The sentiment is from Paulette at Create With TLC.  Except for the coloring, this really was a CAS creation! I didn't even add any ribbon or other embellishments!

Gotta run now.  Thanks for stopping by again!  Hope you have a great evening and wonderful weekend!

Fashion Fades, Style Remains

Hello!  Can't believe it's already Sunday evening!  It's been a busy weekend for us. DH had a big golf tournament this weekend and I spent most of today watching the final match. Sadly, he missed winning the whole championship by one stroke after nearly 80 holes of play, but it was an exciting match today and fun to be there to watch.  When I wasn't at the golf course, I managed to get a card done for the Jackson Digital Expressions Sketch Challenge #1 (use sketch and pastel colors).

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

I started with a card base of GKD Innocent Pink and layered with pastel patterned papers from the Authentique Delightful 6x6 pad.  My image is Sharp Girl  from Robert Jackson.  It is available in Robert's store here.  I printed her on Cryogen White and colored her with  Copic markers.  I added some Stickles to her hat, shoes, handbag and jacket for some sparkle.  The sentiment is from Paulette at Create With TLC.  Some Papertrey Spring Moss ribbon and a few yellow pearls from my stash finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great rest of the evening and hope to see you again soon!

A Couple of Cards

Hi there!  Hope you're having a good weekend so far!  Things have finally calmed down a little and I was able to complete a couple of cards I was working on.   I hope I'll gradually get caught up on all my cards and on visiting your blogs.  I am getting there!

My first card is for Aud Sentiments Challenge #46 where the theme was "love".  Paulette from Create With TLC generously offered a freebie love sentiment on the Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog that we could use for our creation.  It was so cute, I decided to use it for my card.

I started with a card base of GKD Black Onyx and layered with patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Two Sunshine 6x6 pad.  I used Paulette's freebie (If Love Were A Movie...) and also a couple of tickets from Create With TLC that Paulette shared as part of the February Club.  The popcorn box is from DRS Designs.  I did a little coloring with Copics and added a bit of Stickles to the salt on the popcorn.  A stitched ribbon bow finished my card.

I created a second card for the Create With TLC DT using a sentiment from a new set called Women Equal Strength which can be found in the Create With TLC store.  I thought it paired perfectly with this wonderful digi image from Robert Jackson called She's Fierce.  It can be found on Robert's site here.  I was very lucky to have won a couple of his fantastic images during my friend Chana's blog contest.

I started with a card base of GKD Black Onyx and layered with SU Pool Party and patterned paper from the Kaisercraft Chapter One 6.5 x 6.5 pad.  I colored the image with Copic markers and added some Star Dust Stickles, Glossy Accents and adhesive pearls to her outfit and shoes for a little extra detail.  A pearl and rhinestone flourish, a sheer ribbon bow and a Webster's Pages Sparkler with an added pearl finished my second card.  I'm entering this in this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge, too.  It was "anything goes" this time.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great rest of the weekend and hope to see you again soon!
