Another Stately Flowers Card

Good morning!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!  Before I head out, I'm popping in quickly to share another card I made with Melanie Muenchinger's gorgeous new stamp set, Stately Flowers 2.  As soon as I saw it, I knew I would use this set for so many different types of cards!  The beautiful florals and versatile sentiments are perfect together!

Here is my card:

This time I went with a more subdued color palette since I was making a sympathy card.  I started with a card base of SU Ruby Red and layered with patterned papers from the My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Rosy 6x6 pad.   I stamped the small camellia from Stately Flowers 2 twice on Cryogen White and colored them with Copics.  I added some Gold Liquid Pearls dots to the flower centers.  They were cut out and popped up on foam tape.  I added a doily made with the Cheery Lynn Polynesian Sails Oval die. Everything was sponged with a little Antique Linen Distress Ink.  A few adhesive pearls finished off my card.

I used the Mojo Monday 222 sketch for my layout and the colors from the Colour Create Challenge #87 (red, sage green and cream).

Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team Blog Hop

Good morning!  Hope your Tuesday is off to a great start!  This is the first time I've had a chance to pop in since before Christmas!  It's the last Tuesday of the month and that means it's time for the Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team blog hop!  Each month, a group of former DT members gets together and create projects with some of our favorite Heartfelt Creations products.  If you arrived here from Selma's blog, you are on the right track.  If not, you will want to start at the beginning on Olga's blog so you don't miss any of the team's wonderful creations!

Here is my card for the hop:

I used the square version of the Mojo Monday #221 sketch, flipped to vertical, for my layout.
Here is the sketches:

I started with a card base of GKD Choclate Brown and layered with patterned paper from the Basic Grey Curio 6x6 pad.  I stamped the image from Heartfelt Creations HCPC 572 Clematis/Cottage PreCut Set with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Cryogen White and colored it with Copic markers.  I did some sponging around the image with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and SU Soft Sky.  I added some lace trim and a double-loop bow of peach satin ribbon.  A brown glass button finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Your next stop is Kristina's blog, where she has something gorgeous to share with you!  Be sure to leave a comment on every blog while you're hopping because one randomly chosen commenter will win a $25 gift certificate to shop at Heartfelt Creations!  You have until Friday, December 30 at midnight EST to leave your comments.  The winner will be announced Saturday, December 31st at noon.

Just Us Girls, Mojo and More

Good morning!  I've got a card to share today that I made for a couple of fun challenges.  First, it is for this week's challenge over at the Just Us Girls Challenge blog ( JUGS85), which was a color challenge to use all the colors of the rainbow for our card.  I used Mojo Monday Sketch #192 for my layout.  Finally, my card is for this week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge (MMTPT147) on Splitcoast Stampers.  The theme for our tea party this week was anything "fishy".  We are sending our cards to a 10 year old boy named Colton who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma.  Colton loves fishing and he was also asked to be the Grand Marshal for the Strawberry Festival Parade in his town, hence the fishing theme and strawberries.  You can read more about the card drive for Colton here.

Here is the color inspiration for the JUGS challenge:

And here is the Mojo sketch:

Here is my card for the challenges:

I started with a card base of GKD Green Apple and layered with fun patterned paper from the K & Co. Citronella 12x12 pad that has every color of the rainbow in it.  The cute digi, called Fishing Days, is from Sassy Cheryl's.  I received it as part of the original Help For Katie fundraising effort.  It is still available here.  I printed it on Cryogen White Iridescent CS and colored it with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Spring Mix set. It is cut and framed with Spellbinders Scallop and Classic Circle dies. I cut out some little strawberries from October Afternoon's Fly A Kite patterned paper and added them around my card to finish it off.

Thanks for coming by to check out my blog!  Have a great day and hope to see you soon!

Mojo Monday #185 and Color Throwdown #136

Good afternoon!  If you are looking for my CSS Alumni Blog Hop post, click here.

I have a quick post today to share a card I made for a few more of my favorite challenges.  I'm still catching up so they are coming in bunches!  This one is for this week's Mojo Monday #185 which was a contest.

Here is the Mojo Sketch:

I used the colors from this week's Color Throwdown #136 for my card.  Here are the colors:

Finally, my card is for last week's Copic/Promarker Challenge (CBC0401) on The Outlawz site which was to use Copics to color an embellishment.  I colored all my embellishments with Copics.

Here is my card for the three challenges:

I started with a card base of SU Soft Sky and layered with Kraft.  The light blue and orange patterned papers are from the Pink Paislee 365 Degrees 6x6 pad.  The script DP is from the Prima Madeline pad.  I cut the bottom border and the medallion with Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents dies.  The sentiment tag was cut with one of the Spellbinders Grommet Tag dies.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Enjoy The Sunshine set.  I colored white Kaiser pearls, white seam binding and three white Prima flowers with my B00 Copic marker for the Outlawz challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back soon with some other creations I've been working on.
Have a great evening!

Card For A Few Challenges

Good morning!  I hope your weekend is starting off well!  I am dropping in with a quick post to share a card I made for a few of my favorite challenges.  First it is for this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge #75 - blue, pink and silver.

Here is the color inspiration for the challenge:

My card is also for this week's Mo's DP2 Challenge #76, where the theme was "Buttons 'n Bows" - you had to use at least one of each, along with a Mo's image.  Finally, I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #184 for my layout.
Here are the Mojo sketches:

Here is my card for all three challenges:

Obviously, I chose the square version of the sketch.  I started with a square base card of GKD Heavy Base Weight White.  My blue/green background DP is from the Basic Grey Fruitcake collection. The plaid and pink papers are from the Basic Grey Olivia 6x6 pad.  My Mo's image is Checking FB.  I love this image - maybe because it looks like such a familiar scene - lol!  I colored her with Copics and highlighted with Spica pens. The sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs set, Fine Furnishings Additions.  It is embossed with silver EP.  I added two bows, one of pink ribbon and one of metallic silver cord.  A coordinating Basic Grey button finished it.

Thanks for dropping by!  Have a great weekend!

Mojo Monday 175

Happy Monday! I had a busy weekend and I'm getting here late today, too, but I wanted to share a card I made for this week's Mojo Monday Sketch 175.  As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to play along.
Here is this week's sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch:

I decided to use the colors from last week's Color Challenge on Paper Craft Planet (pcpcolor88, week3) which were light blue and gray.  I started with a base of SU Soft Sky and layered with papers from the Basic Grey Cappella 6x6 pad.  My sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs set, Arranged With Love, and it was stamped with Tim Holtz Peeled Paint Distress Ink and heat embossed with clear EP.  I added some soft blue suede ribbon that I got from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I finished it with a stick pin made from the SU Pretties Kit and lots of ivory pearls and flourishes.

Thanks for stopping by tonight!  Have a great evening!
