Christmas in July

Hi there!  Happy Sunday!  Hope you've had a good weekend!  We've been busy this weekend, so I haven't had much time for crafting or blogging, but I hope to get back to it tomorrow.  I do have a card to share today.  It is for a couple of challenges I enjoy doing.

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Riding Hood Red and the patterned papers are from the Melissa Frances Deck the Halls 6x6 pad.  The beautiful image is Christmas Fairy from Aurora Wings.  You can find her in Mitzi's Etsy shop here.  The AW Blog challenge right now is to do "no lines" coloring or a color BINGO.  I decided to give the no lines technique a go.  It's my first time and I wasn't that thrilled with the outcome.  With my bad eyesight, it was hard to see where to color even with a dark lines image nearby.  I guess it will take practice.  Maybe I should have started with a less intricate image, too.  Anyway, I printed it in washout mode and colored with my Copics in festive Christmas colors.  I added some Crystal, Red, and Gold Stickles for sparkly accents.  A 3D poinsettia and a sparkly Joy sentiment sticker, as well as a couple of gems from my stash, finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back to my normal schedule soon, I hope.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:
Aurora Wings Blog Challenge #4 (no lines coloring or color BINGO)
Aurora Wings July Facebook Challenge (Christmas in July)
Left of Center Creative Challenge #36 (add some sparkle)
Creative Fingers Challenge #43 (anything goes)

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Snowdrop Fairy

Hi again!  I'm back with a quick second post today.  Now I am actually up and have already been out to an appointment.  I have my coffee in hand and the day is ahead of me.  Before getting going, I am here to share a card I made for a couple of challenges I enjoy doing.  I'm cutting it down to the wire on a least one of them, so I'll be brief.

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are GKD Fresh Asparagus and the patterned papers are from the Basic Grey Curio 6x6 pad.  The fairy image is Snowdrop Fairy from Delicious Doodles.  I colored it with my Copics.  I took a bit of license with the colors I used.  I know that snowdrops are mainly white with green detail, but I made them mostly shades of green. You can't see it well in the photo, but I spritzed the main image with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist.  I didn't add a sentiment yet.  I'll wait until I know how I'll use it.  Some Webster's Pages trim and a few pearls from my stash were my only embellishments.

Here is a close-up:

Thanks for stopping by again!  Hope to see you soon!

I am entering my card in the following challenges:
Delicious Doodles Challenge #95 (anything goes with DD)
Left of Center Challenge #35 (fairies)
Allsorts Challenge #266 (fairies)
Divas by Design (things with wings)

Have a great day!

Hi there!  Happy (very early) Friday! Hope you had a great week and you have fun plans for the weekend!  It's likely to be more of the same for me, since I'm still not that mobile, but hoping it will still be a good time.  I am here early to post my DT card for the Alcohol Markers Challenge at The Outlawz site.   I've got a couple of other fun posts later, so I hope you will pop back if you have time.  Anyway, our theme this week is "anything goes" with the end of the month option to add a Christmas twist.  I try to do this when I can so I can build up my holiday card stash before the press is on. Good morning!  Happy Friday!  Hope you had a great week and you have fun plans for the weekend!  I was supposed to have another back surgery today, but they rescheduled it for Monday, so my weekend will be spent getting everything in order for the time I will be out of commission.  Starting Monday, most of my upcoming posts will be pre-scheduled, but I hope it won't be long before I'm back posting live.  Anyway, I am here today with my DT post for this week's Alcohol Markers Challenge at The Outlawz.  The theme this week is "inspired by a song, book or movie title".  This leaves plenty of room for your interpretation, but please remember that you must have coloring with alcohol markers (any brand) on your project. I was inspired by the song "Queen of the Forest" by Ted Nugent.
