Always On My Mind

Good morning!  Happy Wednesday!  Hope I didn't get you humming that song in the title all day! Have you had a good week so far?  We are having some nasty weather today - pouring rain, thunderstorms and high winds.  There were some tornado watches/warnings around AL earlier, but most of them have expired by now, I think.  Sure wish I didn't have to go out in the rain!  Anyway, before I do, I'm popping in to share a card I made for a few challenges I like to do when I can.

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Primrose Petals and the patterned papers are from the Kaisercraft Chanteuse collection.  My sweet image is Higher Window from MayzyArt.  I printed her on Make it Colour Blending Card and colored her with my Copics.  I cut out around the image with my Silhouette Cameo.  I also used the Cameo to cut out two heart borders, using a freebie cut file called Hearts Grow Border from Debbie here, and the heart doily from a free cut file called Layered Doily 26 shared by Monica here.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  A few Wild Orchid Crafts roses finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the image:

Thanks for stopping by!  I will be around to visit as soon as I get back home.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:
MayzyArt Challenge #009 (romance)
Papertake Weekly (sketch #75 or any PTW sketch; I used #75 below)
Love To Create #50 (anything goes; must have sentiment)
The Squirrel and The Fox #36 (something new; I used my new Cameo and new cut files)
Loves Rubberstamps Challenge #37 (have a heart)
Color Throwdown #227 (Rose, Pink, Kraft, Green)

Here is PTW-75:

Have a great day and see you soon!

Thankful For Heroes

Good morning!  Happy Friday!  Hope you've had a good week and you are gearing up for a fun weekend!  I've had a lot going on this week and it sure has eaten into my crafting and blogging time.  I'm hoping the weekend brings a little down time for working in my craft room. Before getting going with my day, I'm here to share my DT card for this week's Copic/Promarker Challenge at The Outlawz.  The theme this time is Remembrance Day (tribute to veterans or any other special remembrance).  You must do some coloring with alcohol markers (any brand), but otherwise how you interpret the theme is up to you.

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are GKD Green Apple and the papers are from the Authentique Loyal 6x6 pad.  While not really camouflage, I thought the colors and patterns of the papers still worked with the theme.  My adorable image is Soldier Boy from Mo's Digital Pencil.  You can find him in Mo's store here.  I printed him on Make it Colour Blending Card and colored him with my Copics.  I made the camouflage pattern on his clothes and hat by dabbing with my BG95, BG93 abd BG91 markers. The sentiment is from Paulette at Create With TLC.   A double-loop navy taffeta bow and a few stars punched from green glitter paper finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the image:

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Copic/Promarker Challenge and check out the beautiful creations from the rest of the DT!  I am sure you will be inspired to play along.  Our November challenges are being sponsored by Mischelle of That's Fabulous!.  One randomly-selected participant in our challenges will win 3 digis and a paper pack of their choice from That's Fabulous!.  And don't forget there are always lots of fantastic monthly site-wide prizes up for grabs when you enter any of the challenges at The Outlawz.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Through The Craftroom Door #43 (anything goes)
Sweet Sketch Wednesday #179 (sketch below)
Mo's DP2 Challenge #160 (C is for...camouflage and cute)
The Color Throwdown #217 (black, white, lime and navy)

The Best Things are Friends

Hi again!  I'm sure you are getting sick of me by now.  I don't know exactly how I ended up with so many posts on the same day, but please bear with me. Things will get back to normal soon, I promise! I'm back to share the card I made for Day 4 of my Featured Designer stint at Jackson's Digital Expressions.

Today I am featuring "Bridge Ladies":

I started with a card base of SU Certainly Celery and layered with patterned papers from the Bo Bunny Olivia Pad.  The image is Bridge Ladies from Fine Arts by Robert Jackson.  You can find it in the Friends section of Roberts store here. I printed it on Copic X-Press It Blending Card and colored with my Copics.  I added a bit of Stickles to their jewelry for some sparkle.  The sentiment is from Paulette at Create With TLC.  A triple loop bow of matching seam binding finished up my card.

My card is also for the Color Throwdown #200 (colors) and Sweet Sketch Wednesday #162 (sketch).

Here is the colors CTD color inspiration:

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my work!  I truly appreciate your visits!  Have a great day and a great weekend, too!

Sending Smiles

Hi there!  Happy Wednesday and Leap Year Day!  Hope you've had a good week so far!    I'm popping in to share the card I made for a few challenges I like to do.  If you are looking for my Heartfelt Creations Design Team Alumni card, please click here.  My card today is for the February/March Challenge on Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge blog (stitching and swirls), The Color Throwdown #181 (Certainly Celery, Ruby Red, Pretty in Pink and Blushing Bride), Sweet Sketch Wednesday #143 and this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge (anything goes).

Here is the SSW sketch:

And here is the CTD Color Inspiration:

Here is my card for the challenges:

I started with a card base of SU Certainly Celery and layered with patterned papers from the Prima Romantique 8x8 pad.  I was thrilled to find papers in my stash with all the CTD colors in them!   I machine stitched around all the panels.  My Elisabeth Bell image is Belles 'n Whistles Happy Mail.  I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with Copics.  I added some Stickles here and there for a little sparkle.  The sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs Spring Mix set.  I layered it on an oval and then on one of the Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio and added some ruby satin ribbon and a couple of pink gems.  The flourish was cut with the Cheery Lynn Designs Fanciful Flourish.  Three tiny Wild Orchid Crafts roses (airbrushed to match with Copics) finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a great evening and come back to visit again soon!Photobucket

Happy Exploring

Hello again!  You must be getting sick of me by now - lol!  I've got a second quick post today with a card I made for the Create With TLC Design Team and a couple of other challenges I like to do during the week. It is for this week's Color Throwdown #173 (red, black and silver or gray) and the Tuesday Throwdown #79 (use something shiny on your card).

Here is the CTD color inspiration:

Here is my card:

I started with a card base of GKD Red Hot and layered with Silver Mirror Cardstock (my shiny item) and a graphic from Create With TLC.  It is from Paulette's new Travel Collages Vintage set.  You can find it her store here.  I also used a couple of other pieces of word art from Create With TLC.  They were offered as freebies awhile back on the Create With TLC blog.  You definitely want to go over there and sign up as a follower!  Paulette shares new freebies on the blog every day and you won't want to miss out on them!

That's it!  I promised it would be quick!  Have a great Friday and weekend!Photobucket

Vintage Santa(s)

Hi there! It's getting late for me, but I still wanted to drop in and share a card I made for a couple of challenges I like to do.  I am still fighting this crummy cold and I definitely don't feel up to snuff, but I am still valiantly trying to get all my Christmas cards done before Friday.  The challenges are helping motivate me to reach my goal.  Anyway, my card is for this week's Just Us Girls Challenge #113 (sketch challenge), Color Throwdown #171 and the Simon Says Stamp challenge (photo inspiration).

Here is the JUGS sketch:

Here is the Color Throwdown #171 swatch:

Finally, here is my card for the three challenges:

I started with a card base of GKD Cranberry Tart and layered with patterned papers from the Bo Bunny Father Christmas 6x6 pad.   I stamped the vintage Santa image from Crafty Secrets Vintage Christmas set with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Cryogen White and colored with Copic markers. I did a little sponging with Antique Linen Distress Ink when I finished coloring.  The image and mat were cut with Spellbinders Petite Oval Nestabilities.  I added some Gold Liquid Pearls to the scalloped mat.  The sentiment is from the Christmas Verses set from Layers of Color.  I was so lucky to have won this set in a recent challenge I entered. It was stamped with SU Soft Suede.  An olive gingham ribbon bow finished my card.

Just for fun, while I was at it, I made another card with a similar style.  I used the same sketch, colors and stamps, but changed out the card base to SU Bravo Burgundy and the patterned paper to My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Christmas.  I used used Olive Grosgrain and White Opal Liquid Pearls on this one.

OK, that's it for me tonight.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I really appreciate your visits and your kind comments!  Hope to see you again soon!

Card Patterns #144 (and more)

Hi there!  Happy Saturday!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!  DH and I went out for an early breakfast then ran a bunch of errands so we wouldn't have to face the crowds later.  I'm hoping I'll be able to spend some time in the craft room this afternoon!  Before that, I am popping in to share my DT card for this week's Card Patterns Sketch.  This week we are again being sponsored by Kim at My Craft Spot.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I started with a card base of GKD Fresh Asparagus and layered with patterned papers from the Graphic 45 Christmas Past 8x8 pad.   My vintage image is a digi called A Day of Skating from Create With TLC.  It was offered as a freebie during last week's Create With TLC Winter Wonderland Blog Hop.  I printed it on Cryogen White and colored with Copics.  I added a bit of Ice Glitter to the snowy hills in the background.  The sentiment is from the Shiny and Bright set, also from Create With TLC.  The image and sentiment panels were cut with Spellbinders Petite Oval Nestabilities.  I added some gold pearl accents around the scalloped frames with Gold Liquid Pearls.  I used some of the beautiful hand-dyed ribbon and Baker's Twine from My Craft Spot that Kim generously provided to the DT.  An old button from my stash finished my vintage Christmas card.

My card is also for two other challenges I like to do: this week's Color Throwdown #170:

and the current challenge at Through The Craftroom Door #15 (holiday theme and use at least three embellishments on your project - I used seam binding, Baker's Twine, glitter, Liquid Pearls and a button).

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Card Patterns Sketch blog to see the gorgeous creations from the rest of the amazing DT, Kim (our sponsor) and our wonderful Guest Designer, Diana!  We hope you'll be inspired to play along with us this week!

The Color Throwdown #167 and Sketch Saturday

Hi there!  I'm back really quick to share the card I made for two challenges: Sketch Saturday #180 and Color Throwdown #167.  I had my card almost all done earlier in the week, but set it aside and forgot to come back and finish it.  Thankfully, I got it done before the deadlines this time - lol!

Here is the Sketch Saturday sketch:

And here is the Color Throwdown swatch:

Here is my card for both challenges:

I started with a card base of SU Pool Party and layered with patterned papers from the Basic Grey Mistletoe & Pears and Eskimo Kisses collections.  I merged these two darling Mo Manning images called Kai in the Snow and Snowman.  They can be found in Mo's store here.  I just love the expression of joy on Kai's face in this one!  I printed the merged image and colored it with Copics.  I added some Snow Glitter to the pom poms on both hats and some Polar White Flower Soft for the falling snow and snow on the ground.  I wove some pink gingham ribbon through the fancy border cut with a Spellbinders Parisian Accents die and added a triple-loop bow.  The corner element is also from Parisian Accents.  A few adhesive pearls on the diecuts finished my card.

Thanks for coming by again!  I really appreciate it!  Enjoy the rest of your day and the weekend!

Card For A Couple More Challenges

Hi, there!  Hope you're having a great day!  This is my second post today.  If you are looking for my DT card for the Copic/Promarker Challenge on The Outlawz, please scroll down one post.  I am back because I managed to squeeze in another card for a couple of challenges I like to do.  My card is for this week's Color Throwdown #166 and this week's challenge at Our Creative Corner where the theme was "fancy folds".

Here is the CTD Color Swatch:
Here is my card for both challenges:

For my fancy fold, I created a center step card.  A tutorial for this type of card is available here on Splitcoast Stampers.  I started with a card base of Old Olive and layered with patterned papers from the Prima Madeline 6x6 pad.  The sentiment is from Paper Makeup Stamps called Deuteronomy 31:6.  It is cut out and matted with Spellbinders Scallop and Classic Petite Oval Nestabilities.  The butterflies are punched with a MS punch and tiny pearls were added to their bodies.  I airbrushed a Kaiser Paper Bloom with my Copics and added it with a few punched leaves (MS punch).  A Kraft taffetta bow finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by again!  I really appreciate it!  Have a terrific weekend!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #83 (and more)

Good afternoon!  Hope you are having a great day!  I'm popping in with a quick post to share a card I made for a few challenges.  First, it is for this week's Mo's DP2 Challenge #83 where the theme was "distressing".  My card is also for this week's Color Throwdown #142 - Black, Lime Green and Dark Gray.  Finally, I used Card Positioning Systems Sketch #218 for my layout.

Here are the CTD colors:

And here is the CPS sketch:

Here is my card for the three challenges:

I started with a card base of GKD heavy base weight white CS.  I used patterned papers from a retired Stampin' Up pack called Urban Oasis to bring in the CTD colors. The patterned papers are layered on SU Basic Gray CS.  I stitched around all the panels and distressed the edges with scissors.  My Mo's image is The Big Guy Golfing.  I colored him with Copic markers then distressed around the image panel with Weathered Wood Distress Ink.  I flipped the CPS sketch to vertical, then finished my card with 3 pewter brads from Making Memories.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope to see you again soon!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #82 (and more)

Good morning!  Hope your day is off to a great start!  I popping in to share a card I made for this week's Mo's DP2 Challenge #82.  This week, Sheila is the hostess and the theme is "Here Comes Summer".  My card is also for this week's Color Throwdown #141 - Aqua, Yellow and Rose Red.

Finally, I also submitted my card to the current Copic Coloring Challenge on Suzanne Dean's Color Me Creative Classroom site, where the theme was "Spring Break".

Here is my card for the challenges:

I started with a card base of SU Tempting Turquoise and layered with patterned paper from the Basic Grey Lime Rickey 6x6 pad.  My Mo's image is To The Beach.  She's printed on Cryogen White Iridescent and colored with Copic markers.  The background beach scene was created with a combination of Copics (sand) and sponging with dye inks (ocean and sky).  I added Yellow and Aqua Stickles for some sparkle.  It's finished with a sheer ribbon bow and and Offray sheer ribbon flower.

Mojo Monday #185 and Color Throwdown #136

Good afternoon!  If you are looking for my CSS Alumni Blog Hop post, click here.

I have a quick post today to share a card I made for a few more of my favorite challenges.  I'm still catching up so they are coming in bunches!  This one is for this week's Mojo Monday #185 which was a contest.

Here is the Mojo Sketch:

I used the colors from this week's Color Throwdown #136 for my card.  Here are the colors:

Finally, my card is for last week's Copic/Promarker Challenge (CBC0401) on The Outlawz site which was to use Copics to color an embellishment.  I colored all my embellishments with Copics.

Here is my card for the three challenges:

I started with a card base of SU Soft Sky and layered with Kraft.  The light blue and orange patterned papers are from the Pink Paislee 365 Degrees 6x6 pad.  The script DP is from the Prima Madeline pad.  I cut the bottom border and the medallion with Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents dies.  The sentiment tag was cut with one of the Spellbinders Grommet Tag dies.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Enjoy The Sunshine set.  I colored white Kaiser pearls, white seam binding and three white Prima flowers with my B00 Copic marker for the Outlawz challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back soon with some other creations I've been working on.
