Joan's Gardens Card Challenge #18

This is my second post today.  My Heartfelt Creations Wednesday post is here

I am back to share the card I made for Joan's Gardens Card Challenge #18.  This week, the requirements were to make a monochromatic card and to use an embossed background, flowers, a flourish and butterflies.  I used this week's Sketch Challenge (SC0518) on The Outlawz site for my layout.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

I started with a card base of Cryogen White Iridescent and layered with monochromatic patterned paper from the Basic Grey Porcelain collection.  On a separate piece of Cryogen White, I embossed the flourish frame using the Dreamweavers Nouveau Oval (LG604) Embossing Stencil.  I masked the outer frame and airbrushed the oval with my Copic Airbrush System.  The image from Heartfelt Creations HCPC 3394 Classic Bella Rose set was stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves and highlighted with Copic markers.  The butterflies were punched from the same DP using Martha Stewart punches.  I added adhesive pearls to the four corners and to the butterfly bodies.  I finished my card with a pretty Prima rose.

Thanks for dropping in again!  Enjoy the rest of your day!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #77 (and more)

Good afternoon!  I hope it's as gorgeous where you live as it is here in NC!  I think spring is finally here to stay!  I am popping in to share a card I made for a few challenges this week.  First, it is for the Play Date Cafe Challenge #77.  Here is the inspiration photo that Ruby had for us this week:

My card is also for Mo's DP2 Challenge #78.  Dorcas is our hostess again  this week and the theme is "Start of Something New", interpreted anyway you like as long as you use a Mo's image.  Finally, my card is for this week's Sketch Challenge (SC0413) on The Outlawz site.  Here is the sketch:

And here is my card for the three challenges:

I was inspired by the colors, the clean lines and the white brick wall in the PDCC inspiration photo.  I started with a card base of Kraft and layered with SU Wild Wasabi.  I embossed a panel of heavy weight white CS with the Cuttlebug Brickyard embossing folder.  My fun image is Hoping from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I colored her with Copic markers and highlighted with a Sharpie White Paint Pen.  I added a little Glossy Accents to the "glass" on the scale.  The sentiment was computer generated.  A few brads and some Wasabi stitched ribbon finished my card.  This is going to a friend who signed up for a "Biggest Loser" contest at her work.  That's my "start of something new" for Mo's - a new diet!  I think my friend will get a kick out of this image (which reminds me a lot of both of us - lol)!

Have a great day! See you soon!

Card For a Few Challenges

Hi there!  I finally got my act together and made a card!  I got so behind while traveling this week, but I finally do have a card to share for a few challenges that I like to do.  First, it is for Challenge #77 on Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge blog.  Dorcas is the hostess this week and the theme was "how does your garden grow?".  It is also for this week's Sketch Challenge (SC0406) on The Outlawz site.

Here is the sketch:

Finally, my card is for Kathy's Color Throw Down on the new site, Lily Pad Cards

Here are the colors for the challenge:

Here is my card for the challenges:

I used SU cardstock in all the Throw Down Colors (Brilliant Blue, Tempting Turquoise, Kiwi Kiss, Yo-Yo Yellow and Only Orange.  Those of you who know me know these brights are WAY outside my comfort zone, but I gave it a go!  The cute Mo's image is called Sprout.  She was originally in the digi package that was part of the Help For Katie fund-raising efforts.  You can read about ongoing efforts to help Katie here.  The image is available at Mo's Digital Pencil.  I colored her with Copics.   The sentiment is from the Gina K. Designs set, Spring Mix.  I used Spellbinders Labels Four (large and small) for the sentiment tag. The white panel is embossed with the Cuttlebug folder, Brickyard.  Photo corners with orange button brads finished my simple design.

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back late tonight for the Center Stage Spotlight Blog Hop!  I hope to see you then!

Just Us Girls #77 - Zipper Flower

Hello!  Hope you've had a great day!  I am popping in quick to share the card I made for this week's Just Us Girls Challenge #77 - to create a flower from a zipper and use it on our project.

What a fun challenge!  I've seen these flowers around, but have never given them a try.  Dana shared a terrific tutorial she wrote for the Want2Scrap blog and I used that to create my flower.

My card is also for last week's Sketch Challenge (SC0323) on The Outlawz site.  Here is the sketch:

Here is my card for both challenges:

I started with a card base of SU Taken With Teal and layered with patterned paper from the K & Co. Que Sera Sera pad.  I created the zipper flower following Dana's tutorial.  I added a gem to the center of the flower and some ribbon leaves to finish it.  My Magnolia image is Tilda With Small Gift and I colored her with Copic markers and highlighted with Spica pens.  The image panel and mats were cut with Spellbinders Scallop and Plain Petite Ovals.  A little teal bow and it was done.

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back soon to share a few other challenge cards that I've been working on!

The Play Date Cafe #72 and Joan's Garden's Weekly #9

Good morning!  Can't believe it's already Friday!  I am SO looking forward to the weekend!  It will be extra special for me because I get to meet up with some stamping friends at our LSS, about an hour from here!  I can't wait! We always have fun chatting and shopping together!

On to my card.  I made it for Challenge #72 in The Play Date Cafe.  Here is the inspiration photo:

My card is also for Weekly Challenge #9 on Joan's Gardens blog, which this week had the following requirements: use orange and blue, use a Spring theme, use a die cut and use a circle.  I used the sketch from this week's Sketch Challenge (SC0309) on The Outlawz site for my layout.

Here is my card:

I started with a card base of SU Night of Navy.  The solid papers are from the Basic Grey Green At Heart 6x6 pad.  The the other patterned paper is from the K & Co. Que Sera Sera pad.  It was perfect because it had an abstract design and all the PDCC colors.  I stamped the orange panel with a word stamp from Gina K. Designs' Vintage Backgrounds set (type text) and the Vintage Word Background stamp from Heartfelt Creations (script).  The floral image is from the JustRite set, Breath of Spring.  I colored it with Copic markers and highlighted with Spica pens. The image panel and mat were cut with Spellbinders Scallop and Classic Circle dies.  I finished it with a sheer ribbon bow in navy.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful weekend!
