Queen of the Forest

Good morning!  Happy Friday!  Hope you had a great week and you have fun plans for the weekend!  I was supposed to have another back surgery today, but they rescheduled it for Monday, so my weekend will be spent getting everything in order for the time I will be out of commission.  Starting Monday, most of my upcoming posts will be pre-scheduled, but I hope it won't be long before I'm back posting live.  Anyway, I am here today with my DT post for this week's Alcohol Markers Challenge at The Outlawz.  The theme this week is "inspired by a song, book or movie title".  This leaves plenty of room for your interpretation, but please remember that you must have coloring with alcohol markers (any brand) on your project. I was inspired by the song "Queen of the Forest" by Ted Nugent.

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are GKD Chocolate Brown and the patterned papers are from the Bo Bunny Forever Fall 6x6 pad.  the beautiful image is Fern the Forest Fairy from Delicious Doodles.  She is also available from Sweet Pea Stamps.  I printed the image on MiC Blending Card and colored it with my Copics.  I added some Ice White Pearl Pen accents to the toadstools.  A few opaque gems and a punched butterfly finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the image:

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Alcohol Markers Challenge and check out the gorgeous work from my DT sisters, Dawn, Penny and Kathi!  We hope you will play along this week!  We have a new sponsor for the June challenges, Delicious Doodles.  Teri is offering the winner 4 digis of their choice from her shop.  You won't want to miss out on the chance at this awesome prize!

I am entering my card in the following challenges:
Sunday Sketch and Stamp #209 (Francesca's sketch)
Delicious Doodles Challenge #91 (use your favorite DD image)
Left of Center Challenge #33 (interpret a movie; mine is "Epic" with the main character being Queen Tara, queen of the forest)

Alcohol Markers Challenge - The Outlawz

Hi again!  I'm back tonight with my DT post for this week's Alcohol Markers Challenge at The Outlawz site.  Normally I wouldn't post until tomorrow morning, but I have to go out of town and will be on a plane when I should be posting, so I'm going to go ahead and do it now.  The theme for this week's challenge is "Valentine's Day or Love".  Not very unique this time of year - lol!

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Cherry Cobbler and the patterned papers are from the Carta Bella Beautiful Moments 6x6 pad.  The beautiful image is a digi called Dusty Rose by Joanne Schempp from Sweet Pea Stamps.  I printed her on MiC Blending Card and colored her with my Copics.  I added some sparkle to the pink hearts with Stickles and I added Buttercup Liquid Pearls to the strand of pearls around her waist.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  A few gold gems from my stash finished my card.

Guest Designer - Crafts-Too Challenge You

Good morning!  Happy Monday!  Hope you had a good weekend and your week is off to a great start!  It was cold and rainy here all weekend, but at least we did not get any snow or ice, so I am grateful.  I am here today with some exciting news!  I recently came in Top 3 at Crafts-Too Challenge You and I was invited to be a Guest Designer for the December Challenge!  The main theme for Challenge #6  is "the natural world" and Twist 1 is: add a flower.  There is a little spotlight on my project over on the C2CU blog.  I am so honored!

Here is my project:

I went with a natural and vintage style for my card in keeping with the theme.  My card base and mats are GKD Fresh Asparagus and the patterned papers have lots of images from nature and holiday flowers.  They are from the K & Co. Elizabeth Brownd Christmas collection and the Recollections Botanica Noel paper pad.  The main image is a vintage Christmas Graphic called Pine Branch Frame from The Graphics Fairy. I stitched around all the panels and added sparkling Shabby White Fran-Tage here and there to look like snow. I added some vintage lace and some ivory seam binding that I distressed with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  A cluster of Wild Orchid Crafts Red Berries and a dimensional poinsettia sticker finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the vintage image:

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed my inspiration for the new challenge at Crafts-Too Challenge You!

All Spruced Up

Hi again!  I'm back with another quick post!  I was feeling pretty well this afternoon so I put together a vintage Christmas card to add to my stash.  I used another pre-colored vintage image from my files so I didn't have to sit and color.  All I had to do was design, glue and go!

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are GKD Fresh Asparagus and the patterned papers are from the My Mind's Eye Vintage Christmas 6x6 pad.  The sweet image is Snow Girl with Topiary from The Graphics Fairy.    I added a bit of Shabby White Fran-Tage to the image for some texture.    The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  It was from Paulette's recent Winter Club.  If you have never done one of her Clubs, you are really missing out! You get lots of fabulous digital images, sentiments and papers sent every day right to your mailbox.  Check out the upcoming Club here.  I added lots of pretty embellishments to my collage: a Silver Vintage Metal Corner, Wild Orchid Crafts Ivory Roses and Red Berries and some vintage lace.  A triple-loop seam binding bow, a pearl spray and a metal dove that I also Fran-Taged finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the image:

Thanks for stopping by again!  I made a little progress with my blogging today and I hope to make more later.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Hear The Angel Voices

Hi again!  OK, don't faint, but I am actually back with a second post today!  Working on cards has been a nice distraction for me this week, so I managed to finish up another card before the weekend. It's for a few challenges I enjoy doing, but I don't always get my act together and complete them before the deadlines.  This time I did!

Here is another Christmas card:

My card base and mats are SU Pool Party and the patterned papers are again from the My Mind's Eye All Is Bright 6x6 pad.  The precious image is The Littlest Angel from the Elisabeth Bell Digital Collection.  I printed it on MiC Blending Card and colored it with my Copics.  I added lots of pearl accents with my Viva Decor Ice White Pearl Pen.  I also added Golden Rod Stickles to the stars and the flame in the lamppost and Star Dust Stickles to the wings.  There is a little Glossy Accents on the lantern and on the holly berries.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  I used both a punch (Martha Stewart Modern Garland Edge Punch) and dies (Spellbinders Scallop and Classic Circle dies).  A sparkly 3-D poinsettia sticker finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the image:

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a great weekend!

The Sweetest Gift

Good morning!  Happy Monday!?!  Hope your week is off to a great start!  We had a record rainfall yesterday and today is not looking to be much better.  I guess I will have to stay in and maybe even find some time in my craft room.  Before getting on with my day, I am here to share a card I made for the currrent Guest DT call on the Digi Bells DT blog.  I had so much fun as GDT last year that I always like throw my name in the hat when these calls come up again.  The theme for this GDT call is "summer".  I went with some warm summer colors, some pretty flowers and birds, and an adorable barefoot little girl for my summer creation.

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Crisp Cantaloupe and my patterned papers are from the Prima Songbird 6x6 pad.  The sweet image is Little Friends from the Elisabeth Bell Digital Collection.  I printed her on MiC Blending Card and colored her with my Copics.  I added some Mint Green Liquid Pearls to the buttons on her blouse and Eucalyptus and Golden Rod Stickles to her hair tie and the little bird. The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  I added some birds that I cut with the Birds on A Wire metal die from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  I tucked in a few vintage tickets from the same Prima pad.  Some mint green lace, a May Arts silk ribbon bow with a metal birdcage charm and  a few Wild Orchid Crafts roses and rosebuds finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the image:

Thanks for stopping by!  I truly appreciate your visits, especially when I haven't been able to reciprocate much this last couple of weeks.  I hope to get back into my routine soon.

Flower Power

Hi there!  Happy Monday!  Hope you had a great weekend and your week is off to a terrific start!  The weather here has been ugly for days - rainy, chilly and windy!  Looking forward to that nice Spring weather we were having earlier last week!  I managed to visit my craft room a couple of times over the weekend and I now have a card to share that is for a few challenges I like to do.  A lot of them had a similar theme - "lots of flowers" - so that worked out well.

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Pool Party and the pretty pastel patterned papers are from the Authentique Spring 6x6 pad.  My adorable image is Merry Weather from Elisabeth Bell's Digital Collection.  I printed her on Make it Colour Blending Card and colored her with my Copics.  I added a soft cloudy sky and some grass again for my Spring scene.  She is framed with a Spelbbinders Decorative Labels One diecut.  I added some lace and a triple-loop satin bow with a silver charm (thanks, June!).  A bunch of flowers (mostly Wild Orchid Crafts) and a spray of pearls (thanks, Lori!) finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the image:

Star of Bethlehem

Hi there!  It's me again finally!  Sorry that my posts have been very sporadic, but I am not having much luck squeezing in crafting time with everything else going on in my world right now.   However, I did manage to finish I card I had in the works, so I'm popping by to post it here.  I created another Christmas card for my stash and did it in non-traditional colors, which was the theme of quite a few challenges recently.

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Not Quite Navy and the patterned papers are from the Bo Bunny Snowfall 6x6 pad.  My pretty Christmas image is from Elisabeth Bell.  It is Belles 'n Whistles Star of Bethlehem.   I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Make it Colour Blending Card and colored it in very non-traditional Christmas colors with my Copics.  I added Gold and Mystic Green Stickles here and there for some added sparkle.  I also added White Opal Liquid Pearls to the holly berries and the pom poms on the little one's slippers.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  It is from the recent Winter Club that Paulette shared.  A triple-loop Not Quite Navy taffeta bow and a star punched from gold/bronze glitter paper finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the image:
