Teapot Tuesday and More

Hi there!  Hope you've had a good day!  This is my second post today, so if you are looking for my Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team post, please click here.  I'm back to share a special card I made for this week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.  You can read this week's story here. Two weeks ago, the destination for our teapot cards was Nate and Will Renz, the twin sons of Katie Renz, who sadly lost her courageous battle with gastric cancer on November 7.  The twins turned 6 on November 19 and we wanted to shower the boys with birthday wishes at what was otherwise a very sad time for their family.  Well, this week, our destination is Katie's oldest son, Hunter.  Hunter is turning 12 on Thursday and we wanted to keep the birthday wishes flowing for him, too.  You can read all about Hunter here.  Hunter loves books and reading and magic.  He especially loves Harry Potter!

Here is the card I made for Hunter:

I used the sketch from The Paper Player's Challenge #74 for my layout.  Here is the sketch:

I started with a card base of GKD Cranberry Tart and layered with patterned papers from the Basic Grey Oxford 6x6 pad.  I used this cute image from Bugaboo Stamps called Har Repotter - The Chosen One.  I printed him on Cryogen White and colored him with Copic markers.  I added some Polar White Flower Soft to look like feathers on the owl and Glossy Accents on Harry's glasses.  The sentiment was a freebie from Paulette at Create With TLC.  The numbers were from a Basic Grey alpha sticker set. The card is personalized for Hunter with more alpha stickers on the inside.

That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by again!  I hope you have a great night!

Teapot Tuesday Challenge - Splitcoast Stampers

Good morning!  Hope your day is off to a great start!  I've got lots to do today, but I thought I'd drop in here first and post the card I made for today's Teapot Tuesday Challenge (MMTPT163) on Splitcoast Stampers.  I used to join the tea parties religiously, but since my move, it's been so hard to make time for all the card-making I'd like to do.  I did manage to make a card for the challenge this week.  You can check out the details and the destination for our cards here, if you'd like.  The challenge this week was to make a girly girl card with lots of flourishes and pearls and the colors pink and blue, with extra credit (cookies!) for including a fairy.

Here is my card:

I started with a card base of SU Pool Party and layered with patterned paper from the Prima Madeline 6x6 pad.  I used this adorable Mo Manning image called Teacup Fairy.  She can be found in Mo's store here.  She was printed on Cryogen white and colored with Copic markers.  I added some Stardust Stickles to her wings or some sparkle.  The image was cut out with Spellbinders Classic Circles and matted with a Spellbinders Lacey Circle diecut.  I added some pearl accents with a Viva Decor Ice White Pearl Pen.  A couple of Zva Crystal flourishes, a double-loop wrinkled ribbon bow and a tiny pink rose finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your day!  I'll be back at midnight for the debut of Heartfelt Creations new Christmas Cheer collection!  You are going to love it!

Just Us Girls, Mojo and More

Good morning!  I've got a card to share today that I made for a couple of fun challenges.  First, it is for this week's challenge over at the Just Us Girls Challenge blog ( JUGS85), which was a color challenge to use all the colors of the rainbow for our card.  I used Mojo Monday Sketch #192 for my layout.  Finally, my card is for this week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge (MMTPT147) on Splitcoast Stampers.  The theme for our tea party this week was anything "fishy".  We are sending our cards to a 10 year old boy named Colton who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma.  Colton loves fishing and he was also asked to be the Grand Marshal for the Strawberry Festival Parade in his town, hence the fishing theme and strawberries.  You can read more about the card drive for Colton here.

Here is the color inspiration for the JUGS challenge:

And here is the Mojo sketch:

Here is my card for the challenges:

I started with a card base of GKD Green Apple and layered with fun patterned paper from the K & Co. Citronella 12x12 pad that has every color of the rainbow in it.  The cute digi, called Fishing Days, is from Sassy Cheryl's.  I received it as part of the original Help For Katie fundraising effort.  It is still available here.  I printed it on Cryogen White Iridescent CS and colored it with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Spring Mix set. It is cut and framed with Spellbinders Scallop and Classic Circle dies. I cut out some little strawberries from October Afternoon's Fly A Kite patterned paper and added them around my card to finish it off.

Thanks for coming by to check out my blog!  Have a great day and hope to see you soon!

April Sketch For You To Try

Good morning!  I hope your day is off to a great start!  It's a beautiful spring day so far here in NC! I'm looking forward to getting out a little later to enjoy it.  First, I have a card to share that I made for the April Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT) on Jen Del Muro's blog

Here is this month's sketch:

My card is also for today's Teapot Tuesday Challenge (MMTPT141) on Splitcoast Stampers.

Here is the cute inspiration teapot for this week:

This week the Destination Station is a gentleman named Tom in Colorado who has Down's Syndrome. He's 62 and for the last 11 years, he has been cared for by the daughter and son-in-law of fellow teapotter, Marilynn (APandi).   You can read more about Tom here.  Tom loves to receive mail!!  He also loves guitars and cars!  Hopefully Tom will enjoy all the cards he will receive from the teapotters!

Here is my card for both challenges:

I started with a card base of SU Basic Black and Layered with Papertrey Aqua Mist.  The patterned papers are from the Basic Grey Oliver and Olivia 6x6 pads.  The quitar image and sentiment are digis from a Squigglefly called You Rock!.  I colored the guitar with Copics and highlighted with Spica pens.  I added Glossy Accents to the white part of the guitar to make it shiny. Three silver pearls finished off my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your day!  Hope to see you again soon!

StampTV Sketch Spotlight Challenge

Good morning!  I'm back to share a card I made for this week's Sketch Spotlight Challenge on StampTV.

Here is the sketch Gina had for us this week:

Here is the card I made with the sketch:

My card is also for today's Teapot Tuesday Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers (MMTPT130).  We were to be inspired by two adorable teapot lamps in pink and blue. Our cards are going out to the proud new parents of twins -a boy and a girl!  The twins are the grandbabies of fellow SCSer and teapotter, Patricia Rose (kokirose).  You can check out their story here, if you'd like.

I stamped the cute teddy bear from the Gina K. Designs set, First Christmas, twice onto GKD Layering Weight White and colored them with Copic markers.  I paper-pieced the hats and scarves with DP from the SU Print Patterns pad. The background papers are also from that pad.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Spring Mix set.  I popped up the bears and added a few buttons to finish my simple card.

Glad you stopped by!  Have a great day!

Help For Katie

This week the stamping community is coming together in support of fellow stamper, Katie Renz, who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 gastic cancer. You can read about Katie's story in her own words here on her blog.  Katie's friend, Jak Heath, has coordinated a fundraising event to help Katie and her family during this difficult time.  You can read about all the details on Jak's site.   The links are also in my sidebar.
This week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers is also dedicated to Katie.  The details of the challenge are here and there is more information here about how you can send a card to Katie to help lift her spirits.
Here is the card I made for the teapot challenge (flowers and gold) and to send to Katie:

I used the layout from this week's Sketch Spotlight Challenge on StampTV, but flipped it.  I used one of the sentiments from the Gina K. Designs set, Faithful Florals (illustrated by Tami Mayberry) and embossed it with gold EP onto ivory CS.  The flourishes on the image panel are from Nina Brackett's Lovely Labels 2 set, also by Gina K. Designs.  All the layers are GKD Pure Luxury Good As Gold.  I embossed the narrow gold strip with one of the Cuttlebug Organic Flourish border folders.  The patterned paper has beautiful gold accents.  Sorry but it came from my scrap bag and I can't remember the brand.  I finished it with a cluster of Prima flowers.

Keeping Katie and her family in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for stopping by!
