Here is SSW-169:
Here is my card for the challenges:
I used SU Not Quite Quite Navy for my base and sketch panels and layered with patterned papers from the Authentique Loyal 6x6 pad. I machine-stitched around the border and sketch panels. My cool image is Teen Idol from Kenny K. I printed him on X-Press It and colored with my Copics. Despite buying a few new markers, the Es (especially E25 and E29) are still giving me trouble, so I guess it's time to switch papers. I highlighted the MP3 player, earphones and the grommets on his boots with a Letraset Silver Metallic marker. The sentiment is from Create With TLC. It is from the Stuff Happens set in Paulette's store here. Some grosgrain ribbon and a button stitched with Baker's Twine finished my card.
Here is a close-up:

Hi Carla:
ReplyDeleteI have been MIA as well..getting back to school yadda yadda.. your last few cards, however, have not been missed by me. I so love your card design, (an area I am always working on) and your images. I so feel your pain regarding those E's ... I did change nibs and clean the caps as well.. paper change helped me! The Saturated Canary card with the bicycle and image merged is pure genius....looks just like the inspiration photo and so beautifully colored...and I have been purchasing Paula's sentiments.. love them! thanks for always being an inspiration! xxx Ann Marie
He is so cool, Carla. Love your Kenny K and how you've colored him. Awesome masculine card.

Oh, great take on that sketch, Carla! Love the papers/colors you chose for your adorable image--love the coloring job, too! (And I just got my new paper from AU, so I am going to try it out. Hopefully, it will work better with the E Copics!) The stitching is a cool touch, and the sentiment goes perfectly with this image! :^)
