Card Patterns Sketch #143

Hi there!  Hope your weekend if off to a great start!  DH and I did an early trip to the mall to get all the gift cards our nieces want and a few things for my Mom.  It was amazingly quiet after all the craziness yesterday!  We were so glad we held off until today!  It's a beautiful, balmy day and we got to sit outside for lunch!  How good is that at the end of November??

Anyway, now that I'm back, I'm popping in to share my DT card for this week's Card Patterns Sketch.  This time we are being sponsored by The Craft's Meow.  You'll definitely want to check out all the wonderful stamps and supplies in The Craft's Meow store!

Here is Sketch #143:

Here is my take on the sketch:

The DT was generously provided with some beautiful stamps from The Craft's Meow for our samples.  I used one of the ornaments and a sentiment from the Vintage Ornaments set. I started with a card base of GKD Lipstick Red and layered with patterned papers from the Melissa Frances Deck The Halls 6x6 pad.  I added some lace trim, dyed seam binding and a few pearls for my embellishments.  I stamped the ornament onto GKD Ivory with Memento Bamboo Leaves and stamped the sentiment inside with Memento Rhubarb Stalk.  I popped up the ornament on a small doily made with the Cheery Lynn Polynesian Sails Oval die.  A bit of Baker's Twine on the ornament finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Card Patterns blog and check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the DT, Lynn Miller (TCM DT) and our wonderful Guest Designer, Fran.   We hope you'll be inspired to play along with us this week!  We always love to see your creations!

  11. Just gorgeous, Carla. Love the lace and pretty, dyed ribbon. Of course, being an ornament lover, I love it.
Yes, I heard that about the snow flurries. Like you, I wonder what is going on. I only know last Christmas it snowed us in and we didn't get to spend Christmas with family for the first time ever...but, we did have a white Christmas. I think that was a first, too. Maybe a few flurries before on Christmas.
