Here is my project. Now, mine is definitely not so amazing! In fact, I really struggled with this one for a few reasons. First, it's just hard! Second, I only had a few colors of pens to work with, yet I picked an image that would have required a few more, for sure. I'll know for next time. Lastly, I don't think I used the right paper to get a good blending effect. All that said, it was fun and challenging and in the end, I was happy that I at least gave it a try!
The image I chose is Tropical Waterfall from Make it Crafty. I printed it on Make it Colour Blending Card and colored it entirely with ball point pens. I used a pack of Staedtler pens that I got at Staples, but you can use any brand and you don't need a lot of colors, depending on the image you select. I used the cross-hatch method for the coloring. There are links to some great videos on the technique on the blog. Be prepared to wipe the nib of your pen frequently to get clean lines. I could have done that a little more, I think.
Anyway, there you have it! My first attempt at coloring with ball point pens! Be sure to go check out what the rest of the amazingly-talented MiC DT did. You are sure to be inspired! We hope you will join in on the challenge! There will be a special album set up for your entries in the Make it Crafty store photo gallery.
Have a great day and see you soon!

Beautiful and very colorful!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, this turned out beautifully, Carla. That is something I've never done and is a bit scary, but what a fabulous job you did. Love the crosshatch method. I have to check out the videos.
