Wednesday At Heartfelt Creations

Good morning!  Wow, it's Wednesday again!  It's always one of my favorite days because Wednesday is when the Heartfelt Creations Design Team shares new projects on the Heartfelt Creations blog.  As always, my amazingly talented teammates have presented some gorgeous projects to inspire you! Be sure to stop by and see what I mean!

Here is one of my projects on the Heartfelt Creations blog today:

For some reason, I felt like getting a start on my Christmas cards so I went in that direction with my project.  I started with a card base of SU Handsome Hunter.  I cut a panel of Cryogen White Iridescent and embossed it with the SU Framed Tulips embossing folder.  I rubbed the raised borders with Gold Viva Decor Inka-Gold.  Next I stamped the fern from HCPC 3408 Woodland Fern set with Pine Needles Distress Ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I think this solid fern works great as a rustic tree.  I used Gold Liquid Pearls to make the ornaments and the star on the tree.  The image panel was wrapped with Hunter sheer ribbon and some gold cord then adhered to the card base with Zip Dry Glue.  It's not often I go clean and simple, but I ended up liking the look and will probably do this more in the future.

Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to check out the Heartfelt Creations blog to see this week's projects as well as a sneak peek of the Christmas Cheer Collection being released on September 13 at 12:00 AM EDT!  See you soon!

Card Patterns Sketch #130

Hello!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!  Probably not so much for those of you on the East Coast with Irene bearing down.  I hope that everyone stays safe and has no damage or outages from the storm.  It's sunny and super hot here in Alabama but thankfully, we are not in Irene's path.

Before I head out for the day, I am here to share my DT card for this week's Card Patterns Sketch.  This week's challenge is being sponsored by DRS Designs.  Be sure to stop by the DRS Designs store and see all the goodies there!

Here is my take on the sketch:

I started with a 5 1/2" square card base of SU Chocolate Chip and layered with patterned papers from the Basic Grey Origins collection.  I stamped the Daisy Basket from DRS Designs with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Cryogen White and colored it with Copic markers.  I added Stickles to the flower centers for a little sparkle.  A couple of buttons with bows finished my card.

That's it for me! Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Card Patterns Sketch Blog to see the fantastic creations from the rest of the DT.  We hope you will be inspired to play along with us this week!

See you soon!

Copic/Promarker Challenge - The Outlawz

Good morning!  TGIF!  I hope all of you who are in the possible path of Irene stay safe this weekend.  I know I am going to be watching the path of the storm closely since I still have my house in North Carolina, as well as many friends and family on the East Coast.

I am popping in to share my DT card for this week's Copic/Promarker Challenge on The Outlawz site.  This week's theme is "anything goes" - always a favorite with our challenge participants.

Here is my card:

My card is also for the current challenge (#25) in Suzanne Dean's Color Me Creative Classroom Copic Challenge group.  The challenge this time is "winged things" - to color any image with wings.   Keeping that in mind, I chose this wonderful Mo Manning image called Fairy Tabia.  I started with a 5 1/2 square card base of SU Certainly Celery and layered with SU Lavender Lace and patterned paper from the Prima Fairy Flora 6x6 pad.  I printed Fairy Tabia on Cryogen White Iridescent and colored her with Copic markers.  I added some Crystal and Stardust Stickles for a little extra sparkle.  A shimmery triple-loop bow and a tiny rose spritzed with Honeydew Glimmer Mist finished my card.

Be sure to stop by the Outlawz Copic/Promarker Challenge and check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the amazingly talented design team and our August Guest Designer, Kathy.   I hope you will be inspired to play along with us this week.  If you enter a card in the challenge, you become eligible for the awesome prizes from our wonderful sponsors:

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #97 - Back To School

Good morning!  It's Thursday and time for the weekly challenge on Mo's DP2 Challenge blog!  It's my last week as GD for the month and I have to say, I am so sad to see my stint designing with the awesome Mo's DT coming to an end!  It has been so much fun and you can be sure that I will be back every week playing along with the future challenges!

This week's theme was "Back To School".  I know for many of you, school has already started.  In my neighborhood, I see the buses every morning now and all the cute kids lining up to get on.  That was the inspiration for my card this week:

I chose this adorable image from Mo Manning called "Dundee".  I think he is just the cutest little guy!  I printed him on Cryogen White and colored him with Copic markers.  My 5 1/2" square card base is retired SU Buckaroo Blue. It's layered with papers from the Basic Grey Oxford 6x6 pad.  Some matching ribbon and a coordinating Basic Grey button finished my card.

Thanks for dropping by!  Be sure to check out this week's fabulous creations from Mo's wonderfully talented design team and why not play along with us?  If you enter a card in the challenge, you'll have a chance to win one of Mo's fantastic images!  Hope you'll be inspired to join in!

Wednesday At Heartfelt Creations

Good morning!  Hard to believe it's already Wednesday again - where does the time go?  But the good thing about Wednesday is that it's time for the Heartfelt Creations Design Team to share new projects with you!  You sure won't want to miss the stunning creations shared by my teammates on the Heartfelt Creations blog today!

Here is a project of mine that was shown today:

I really love the Decorative Basket collection that was released this month.  The beautiful stamps and dies can be used in so many different ways!  As you can see, I decided to get a start on some Christmas cards this week.  All the instructions for creating this card are on the Heartfelt Creations blog today.  Briefly I started with a 6" square card base of SU Old Olive and layered with patterned paper from the Basic Grey Jovial collection from last year.  The middle panel of patterned paper was framed with a Spellbinders Lacey Squares diecut.  I cut out a solid basket from Old Olive and an open basket from Naturals White using HCD 714 Decorative Layered Basket dies.  The basket was popped up on Pop Dots.  I stamped several poinsettias from HCPC 2292 Regal Poinsettias 1 with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Cryogen White.  I also stamped some leaves from HCPC 3390 Bella Rose Leaves.  All images were colored with Copic markers.  I cut out the leaves with HCD 712 Bella Rose Die and the flowers with a Spellbinders Blossoms Two die. The flowers and leaves were shaped with a stylus and layered onto the basket with Pop Dots and foam tape.  A few adhesive rhinestones and a little satin bow finished my holiday card.

Thanls for stopping by!  Be sure to head over to the Heartfelt Creations blog and be inspired by the beautiful projects the team has shared there!

Card Patterns Sketch #129

Good morning!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!  I've got lots to do today so I'm dropping by now to share my DT card for this week's Card Patterns Sketch.   This week's challenge is sponsored by Sparkle Creations.  Be sure to check out the cute stamps in Sparkle's store!

Here is my take on the sketch:

Sparkle generously provided the DT with some fun images to create our cards.  I chose Cupcake Ruby.  Isn't she cute with that giant yummy cupcake?  I started with a card base of GKD Smoky Slate and layered with patterned papers from the My Mind's Eye Stella Rose Hazel 6x6 pad.  I used a Martha Stewart Daisy Edger Punch for the horizontal borders.  I stamped Ruby with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Cryogen White and colored her with Copic markers.  I added some Liquid Pearls to her jewelry and hair pins.  The berries on the cupcake were covered with Glossy Accents and the candle flame with Stardust Stickles.  I layered and popped everything up to finish my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to stop by the Card Patterns Sketch blog and check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the Card Patterns design team, our wonderful guest designer, Leann, and some from the Sparkle Creations DT, too.  I'm sure you will be inspired to play along with us!

Copic/Promarker Challenge - The Outlawz

Good morning - TGIF!  I hope you have a fun weekend planned!  I am going to attempt to do something besides unpack this weekend.  That alone should make it a good one! Before getting going with my day, I'm stopping by to share my DT card for this week's Copic/Promarker Challenge on The Outlawz site.

This week's theme is "how does your garden grow".

Here is my garden-themed card:

I used this great Mo Manning image called Sadie.  You can find it in Mo's Digital Pencil store.  I started with a card base of GKD Red Hot and layered with this bright and sparkly DP from the DCWV Citrus Matstack. Anyone who knows me knows I rarely use such bright colors!  I don't know what got into me - lol!  I printed Sadie on Cryogen White and colored her with Copic markers.  I cut out the main image with Spellbinders Petite Ovals Nestabilities and matted with a Red Hot Petite Scallop Oval die cut.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Happy Spring set.  I used Spellbinders Long Rectangles, Classic and Scalloped, for it.  I cut out two leafy branches from DCWV Flower Shower Glitter Matstack with a die from Heartfelt Creations HCD 712 Decorative Layered Basket Die set and tucked them around my image. A simple bow and button finished my card.

Be sure to stop by the Copic/Promarker Challenge and see the fabulous samples created by the rest of the team.  We hope you will be inspired to play along with us!  By entering a card, you become eligible for some awesome prizes from our wonderful sponsors: Ooazk, SCACD, Gilli Stamps an Paper Temptress!  All the details for entering can be found in the challenge thread.

Just Us Girls Challenge #97 - Altered Notebook

Hi, again!  It's my second post today - a miracle for me these days - but I wanted to share a project I made for this week's Just Us Girls Challenge.  If you are looking for my GD card for Mo's DP2 Challenge, click here.

This week's JUGS challenge was to alter a notebook of any kind.

Here is my project for the challenge:

My project was also shared this week on the Heartfelt Creations blog.  Additional details for creating this altered notebook can be found there.  Briefly, I used a tutorial for making a journal and pen set that I found on StampTV.  All the dimensions and instructions for the assembly can be found in that tutorial.  I used GKD Fresh Asparagus for the base cardstock and patterned paper from the Once Upon A Springtime collection for the layers.  I stamped the HCPC 3413 Basketweave Background onto Cryogen White with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copic markers.  I stamped some roses from the HCPC 3394 Classic Bella Rose set and also colored them with Copics.  I cut them out with HCD 712 Bella Rose Die and popped them up through the hole in the basketweave. Some satin ribbon accents finished my notebook.

Thanks for dropping by again!  I really appreciate your visits!

Wednesday At Heartfelt Creations

Good morning (it is still morning, right?)!  I'm posting late again today - I can't seem to keep a stable internet connection here!  As soon as it seems to be fine, it goes out again.  I sure hope to get it resolved soon, because this makes me crazy (even crazier than usual)! Anyway, it's Wednesday and that means it's time for the Heartfelt Creations Design Team to share new projects to inspire you.  Be sure to visit the Heartfelt Creations blog to see the gorgeous creations my team mates have shared today!  You won't be disappointed!

Here is one of my projects that was shown today:

I decided to create a pretty box that could be used for storing A2 sized cards and envies, but this box could have many other decorative uses.  I used a tutorial I found on StampTV for the construction of the box which starts with an empty Kleenex box.  All the dimensions and instructions for assembling the box are mentioned in the tutorial.  I used GKD Fresh Asparagus for the base box cover.  The patterned paper is all from the Graphic 45 Once Upon A Springtime collection.  To decorate the front of the box, I stamped the basket from the HCPC 3411 Woven Basket set wth Memento Tuxedo Black onto Cryogen White Iridescent.  I also stamped some flowers from HCPC 3407 Botanical Floral 2 and some leaves from HCPC 3405 Leaf Medley onto Cryogen.  All the images were colored with Copic markers.  I cut out the basket with HCD 714 Decorative Layered Basket Die and popped it up on the front of the box with foam tape.  I cut out the flowers with Spellbinders Rose Creations dies and the leaves with a Spellbinders Foliage die.  After shaping the flowers and leaves with a stylus, they were adhered to the basket with Zip Dry glue and layered with Pop Dots. Some adhesive pearls in the flower centers finished my altered tissue box.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Don't forget to check out the Heartfelt Creations blog for some wonderful inspiration!  Now, I'm off to check out some blogs while my internet is still working!  Have a great day!

Card Patterns Sketch #128

Happy Saturday!  I hope your weekend is off to a great start!  I've got more unpacking in store for me, but I may also venture out and check out the area and see what's around.  Before I head off for the day, I wanted to share my DT card for this week's Card Patterns Sketch Challenge.

And here is my take on the sketch:

This week we could use any supplies from our stash.  I started with a card base of SU Sahara Sand and used some pretty patterned papers from the Prima Melody 6x6 pad.  I cut a ornate border for the top with the Cheery Lynn Border Carnivale die.  I added two pink pearl flourishes from Recollections and a beautiful Prima flower. The green trim is from Webster's Pages Spring Market Trim Card.   A sentiment from Heartfelt Creations Mini Message Cursive finished my simple design.

Be sure to visit the Card Patterns blog and feast your eyes on the beautiful cards the rest of the design team shared.  I'm sure you will be inspired to play along!

Many thanks for dropping by!  I really appreciate your visit!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Copic/Promarker Challenge - The Outlawz

Good morning!  Happy Friday!  I hope you've had a good week and have lots of fun things planned for the weekend!  For me, it will be more unpacking and organizing, but I'm getting there.  Before I get going on that, I'm dropping in to share my card for today's Copic/Promarker Challenge on The Outlawz site.  The theme this week is to "color an animal".

Here is my card for the challenge:

I chose this adorable image called Buds (girl) from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I think it is just so sweet!  I colored it with Copic markers and added some Stickles here and there for some sparkle.  I also added a little Glossy Accents to the big pup's nose.  The card base is GKD Little Boy Blue and the patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Sugar Rush 6x6 pad.  I decided to enter my card in the current Copic Coloring Challenge on Suzanne Dean's Color Me Creative Classroom site which was to color your embellishments with your Copics and have a friendship theme.  My wrinkled ribbon and fabric flowers were colored to match the paper with my Copics.  I even colored the pearls for the flower centers with my markers.

I started with a 5" square card base of SU Melon Mambo and layered with patterned papers from the Webster's Pages Ladies & Gents/Trendsetter Petite Papers pack.  I printed the image on Cryogen White Iridescent and colored with Copic markers.  The cherry blossoms were highlighted with Crystal Stickles to make them glisten. I added White Opal Liquid Pearls around the Spellbinders scalloped circle frame. A triple-loop silk ribbon bow and a tiny rose finished my card.

Copic/Promarker Challenge - The Outlawz

Good morning!  It's Friday and time for the Copic/Promarker Challenge on The Outlawz site.  I am so excited because today is my first challenge with the CPC team as an Outlawz Design Team member!  I couldn't have been more honored and thrilled to be invited to join this amazingly talented DT!  Now that my move is behind me, I am looking forward to getting back to creating and sharing and learning from everyone in this wonderful community.

This week's challenge is a color challenge - to use the colors of your country's flag.  Although Alabama seems like a foreign country to me right now, it is in the US, so my colors are, of course, red, white and blue.

Here is my card:

I started with a card base of GKD Red Hot and layered with patterned paper from the October Afternoon Report Card 8x8 pad.  The middle panel is digi paper from GKD called Bright & Grungy Argyle.  I love this cute Magnolia stamp - it's Tilda Goes Shopping from the Bon Voyage collection. I colored her with Copics then used a Viva Decor Ice White Pearl Pen to accent her jewelry.  A bow and heart sticker finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to go check out the Copic/Promarker Challenge.  The rest of the DT has some fantastic samples to share and if you play along, you have to chance to win some awesome prizes from our wonderful August sponsors (Oozak, SCACD, Gilli Stamps and Paper Temptress)!

Have a great day!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge

Good morning!  I can hardly contain myself today!  I have some exciting news to share - I was selected as the Guest Designer for the  Mo's DP2 Challenges for the month of August!!!  I am so thrilled to have the chance to design with the incredibly sweet and talented Design Team this month! This week's challenge was to create an easel card with a bird or animal somewhere on the card.

Here is my card for the challenge:

This is the very first card I've made in my new house!  It was kind of like a "limited supplies" challenge since most of my stuff is still packed.  However, my Copics never left my side during the move and I managed to scrounge up some cardstock and patterned paper to make my card.  I made a 5" square easel card with a base of SU Rich Razzleberry, layers of GKD Turquoise Sea and patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky 6x6 pad.  My cute Mo's image is Home Tweet Home. I colored it with Copics and highlighted with Spica pens for some sparkle.  A simple bow of Rich Razzleberry ribbon finished my card.

Thanks so much to the Mo's team for inviting me to join them this month and thanks for stopping by!   Be sure to check out all the awesome creations from the rest of the team on the Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog.!

See you soon!

Wednesday At Heartfelt Creations

Good morning!  I'm off to a bit of a late start today, but it's Wednesday and that means it's time again for the Heartfelt Creations Design Team to share new projects with you!  I've been so busy unpacking and trying to get settled that this is the first time I've seen some of my teammates' projects for the week and all I can say is WOW!  You won't want to miss their gorgeous creations, that's for sure!

Here is one of my projects that was shared on the Heartfelt Creations blog this week:

Sorry for the less than perfect photo.  I took it before I moved and all my lights were already packed so it was hard to get a good photo of the sparkle in the patterned paper and on the flowers.  Anyway, all the instructions for making this card are on the Heartfelt Creations blog today.  Briefly, I started with a 6" square caard base of SU Old Olive and layered with one of the gorgeous papers from the GDC Studios Soul Food collection.  I cut out a window from Cryogen White Iridescent using HCD 708 Decorative Window Scene Die. It was sprtized with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist and adhered to the card base.  I stamped the flowers from HCPC 3406 Botanical Floral 1 and HCPC 3407 Botanical Floral 2 wth Memento Rich Cocoa onto Rose Red, Riding Hood Red and So Saffron cardstock.  The leaves from HCPC 3405 Leaf Medley were stamped onto Old Olive.  The flowers were cut out with Spellbinders Rose Creations dies and the leaves with a Spellbinders Foliage die.  The flowers were rubbed with Rose, Lava Red and Old Gold/Copper Inka Gold from Viva Decor. The leaves were rubbed with Lava Green Inka Gold.  Inka Gold is available here from Heartfelt Creations.  The flowers and leaves were shaped then adhered with Zip Dry glue. Some rhinestones in the flower centers and an antique gold silk bow finished my card.

Thanks so much for dropping by!  I know I haven't been very good about getting to everyone's blogs during my move, but I hope that things will begin to settle down so I can get back to visiting and commenting very soon.

Have a wonderful day!
