Joan's Gardens Card Challenge

Good morning!  Happy Halloween to those that celebrate the spooky holiday!  I've got a ton to do today, but before I get to it, I'm popping in to share the card I made for this week's card challenge on Joan's Gardens' blog.  The requirements this week were to use Selma's snowy background technique, a tree, a flourish and a combination of colors.

Here is my card for the challenge:

I started with a card base of GKD Heavy Weight White and embossed the front using the Stampin' Up Tulip Border folder.  I followed Selma's instructions to create the image panel.  Briefly, I cut a piece of glossy cardstock.  I sponged it with Tim Holtz Weathered Wood Distress Ink.  I then stamped the smaller trees from Heartfelt Creations HCPC 3432 Magnificent Spruce Trees set with Versamark and dried the image with my heat tool.  Then I sponged on Stormy Sky and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink.  I stamped the larger tree from the same set and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.   The sentiment was also heat embossed with white.  I added a few red rhinestones to the big tree and a bit of Polar White Flower Soft at the tree bases.  A flourish cut with HCD 711 Decorative Dutch Iris Die from patterned paper finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope to see you again soon!  Have a wonderful day!
