Spring Garden Party

Hi there!  Happy Wednesday!  Can it possibly be that the week is halfway over already?  Time is certainly zipping by and without much for me to show for it!  At least I do have one project to share with you today.  I am delighted to say that the lovely Zoe invited me to stay on as GD for the month of May over on the Make it Crafty Facebook page!  Of course, I am thrilled to design along with the super-talented team for another month!  Here is my first inspiration project for this month.  It is for MiC FB Challenge #9, which is a photo inspiration challenge.  Those are always fun!

Here is the inspiration photo:

Here is where the photo inspiration took me:

I was inspired by the colors, the overhanging trees and the garden party theme.  My card base and mats are SU Coastal Cabana and the patterned papers are from the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss 6x6 pad.  The beautiful scene is one of the pre-made ones from Make it Crafty, called Afternoon Tea.  I printed it on MiC Blending Card and colored it with my Copics.  I added the ground, grass and cloudy sky with my Copics, too.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  A simple ribbon finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the scene:

Copics:
Greens: YG01, YG03, YG25, YG17, YG67
Tree: E31, E35, E57, E79
Ground: E41, E42, E43, E44
Stones: W1, W3, W5, W7
Table and Chair: BG10, BG11, BG13, BG49
Yellow: YR23, YR21, YR20
Pink/Coral: R20, R22, R24, R81

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to pop by the Make it Crafty Facebook page and join up if you haven't already.  You have until the end of the month to play along with the challenge and there are fab prizes to be won!

Here is the fantastic sketch from Jen:

Here is my take on the sketch:

My card base and mats are SU Bermuda Bay and the patterned papers are from the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss 6x6 pad.  The adorable image is Celebrate Joyfully from Tiddly Inks.  I used the digi version, but the image is also available in a clear stamp set from the Simon Says Stamp store.  I printed Emma on Make it Colour Blending Card and colored her with my Copics.  I added a little grass with my Copics, too.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  Some stitching and a few Wild Orchid Crafts Sweetheart Blossoms finished my card:

Here is this week's fantastic sketch by Jen:

Here is my take on Jen's sketch:

My card base and mats are SU Pool Party and the patterned papers are from the Basic Grey Fresh Cut 6x6 pad and the October Afternoon Woodland Park 8x8 pad.  The focal image was created by merging two Make it Crafty digi images: Country Swing For Two and Tress WinkingTress Winking is also available in rubber from Bunny Zoe's Crafts.  I printed the merged image on MiC Blending Card and colored it with my Copics.   The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  A few Wild Orchid Crafts flowers were my only embellishments.

Alcohol Markers Challenge - The Outlawz

Good morning!  Happy Friday!  Hope you've had a good week and you have fun plans for the weekend!  My plans are to get my craft room back in order after emptying it for painting and reorganizing.  I hope the fresh space will give me some much-needed inspiration!  Anyway, I am here with my DT post for this Alcohol Markers Challenge at The Outlawz.  The theme this week is "winter wonderland", which I believe it is for many of you out there!  You can interpret this as you'd like, but you must have coloring with alcohol markers (any brand) on your project to enter.

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Ruby Red and the patterned paper is from an old My Mind's Eye 12x12 pad.  I think it is Wild Asparagus, but the cover is missing.  The fun image is Snowball Fight Digi Stamp from Make it Crafty.  I printed it on MiC Blending Card and colored it with my Copics.  I colored in the sky and clouds with my Copics, too.  Don't they look like they are having fun?  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  A couple of gems from my stash finished my card.

Little Miss Muffet Challenge #75 - You've Been Framed

Good morning!  Happy Thursday!  How is it that we are at Thursday again?  Time seems to gallop along this time of year!  I've been very busy this week and haven't had a lot of time for crafting, but of course, I have my DT project for this week's Little Miss Muffet post.   We have a new challenge for you today.  The theme this time is "you've been framed".  We want to see a frame on your project.  It can be stamped, doodled, cut-out, anything, really, so long as there's a frame.  Easy and fun, don't you think?

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Riding Hood Red and the patterned Papers are from the Basic Grey Aspen Frost 6x6 pad.  The adorable image is Swings 'n Slides Perfect Christmas by Pollycraft for Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  In the UK, you can purchase him from My Mum's Craft Shop.  I framed him with a new digi, Hatched Lace Border, from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  I colored him with my Copics and added some Glossy Accents to Rudolph's nose.  I thought about coloring the frame, too, but I liked the doodled look of it so I left it be.  Maybe next time.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  A dimensional stocking sticker, a narrow bow and a few gems, all from my stash, finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Elphine House Australia Challenge #53 - With A Twist

Hi again! I'm back with my DT post for this month's challenge at Elphine House Australia.  I apologize for being late with my post.  I had an eye appointment this afternoon and they dilated my eyes.  I am still having trouble looking at the computer screen!  Anyway, we have something a little different for you starting today. This time, you have your choice of playing along with either or both of two themes - the one we had planned for November and/or the December challenge theme.  The current challenge will run until December 30th and we will announce the winners on December 31st.  Starting in January, we will be back to our normal monthly schedule.  We will have a mid-challenge inspiration post for you, but head on over to the Elphine House blog right now to see some gorgeous DT inspiration with both themes!

Without further ado, the two themes are "falling leaves" or "let it snow".

Here is my card for the "falling leaves" theme:

My card base and mats are cardstock from my stash.  The patterned papers are from the Bo Bunny Autumn Song 6x6 pad.  The sweet image is Tommy Apples for Mom by Elisabeth Bell for Elphine House Australia.  I stamped him on MiC Blending Card and colored him with my Copics.  I framed him with an ornate leaf frame cut with my Cameo using a file from the Silhouette store.  I layered the frame over another piece of patterned paper.  The "thankful" sentiment was also cut with my Cameo using a file from Miss Kate Cuttables.  A bunch of Recollections paper leaves, a few rhinestone leaf stickers and some olive gems from my stash finished my card.

Here is a close-up of the colored image:

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Elphine House blog and check out the gorgeous creations for both themes from the rest of the DT.  We hope you will play along!  Don't forget, you must you an Elisabeth Bell image (any company) to enter the challenge.

Card Makin' Mamas #76 (thankful tidings)
Sentimental Sundays #181 (giving thanks)
