Card Patterns sketch #126

Hi there!  I am finally back!  My move was a real challenge to say the least, but I FINALLY have internet access so I can share my DT card for this week's Card Patterns Sketch Challenge.  This week's challenge is sponsored by DRS Designs

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

DRS Designs shared some fun images with the design team.  I chose this cute image called Proud Catch Fisherman.  The sentiment is Hooked on You Greeting.  I started with a card base of SU Blue Bayou and layered with patterned paper from the Basic Grey Marjolaine collection.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Cryogen White Iridescent and colored with Copic markers. I cut out the image and matted it with Spellbinders Scallop and Classic Petite Oval Nestabilities and flipped the main image panel to vertical.  A stitched ribbon knot and a Prima Say It With Studs embellishment finished my card.

Many thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to check out the awesome creations from the rest of the Card Patterns team!

I hope that my world gets back into some semblance of order soon so I can get back to creating and blogging on a regular basis.  Looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Wednesday At Heartfelt Creations

Good morning!  It's Wednesday again already! Time for you to feast your eyes on gorgeous new creations from my teammates on the Heartfelt Creations Design Team!  Although I am currently traveling and still finishing up my move, I wanted to share one of the cards I made for this week's post on the Heartfelt Creations blog.

Here is one of my cards that was posted today:

All of the instructions for making this card are available on the Heartfelt Creations blog today.  Sorry for the "less than perfect" lighting.  My usual set-up is all packed up.  Briefly, I started with a 6" square card base of SU Rose Red and layered with patterned paper from the Prima Annalee 6x6 pad.  I cut a large flourish from Cryogen White using a HCD 711 Decorative Dutch Iris die.  I spritzed the flourish with Pearl Glimmer Mist and adhered it to the card base.  I stamped the floral swirl from HCPC 3409 Tropical Floral Swirls with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Cryogen White. I also stamped some extra single flowers from HCPC 3407 Botanical Floral 2.  All of the images were colored with Copic markers. The extra flowers were cut out with Spellbinders Rose Creations Shapeabilities, shaped, then popped up on the main floral swirl image. A big pink satin bow and some pearls in the flower centers finished my card.

Many thanks for stopping by!  I can't wait to get settled in my new house and get back to visiting everyone's blogs!  I hope you'll forgive me for my lack of comments during this huge transition for me and my family.

See you soon!

I just love all the beautiful florals in the new Botanical Garden collection! I finished my card with adhesive pearls in the flower centers and corners.

Card For Two Challenges

Good morning!  I'm popping in early today to share the card I made for two challenges.  First, it is my DT card for Card Patterns Sketch #123.  My card is also for this week's challenge on the Our Creative Corner blog - It's A White Party - to use only white in our creation.  I am thrilled to be Guest Designing with the OCCC team again this week!

Here is the Card Patterns sketch:

This week's Card Patterns challenge is being sponsored by BoniBleaux Designs Digis.

Here is my card for both challenges:

I used several shades of white, lots of texture and all white embellishments for my OCCC White Party creation. I started with a card base of GKD Heavy Base Weight Ivory and layered with SU Shimmer White.  I embossed a panel of GKD Layering Weight Ivory with the top of a Sizzix Ornate Frames embossing folder.  I cut four small panels of Shimmer White for the bottom and embossed them with the Cuttlebug Jamara embossing folder.  They were all popped up on foam tape. I added some white lace, white wrinkled ribbon and an off-white Kaiser Paper Bloom.  I stamped the heart from Heartfelt Creations Bella Rose Heart set (HCPC 3402) with Versamark onto vellum cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I cut out the image and layered the vellum over a cut-out of Shimmer White.  I finished my card with pearl accents made using White Opal Liquid Pearls.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!  Be sure to go check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the Card Patterns and Our Creative Corner Design Teams!  Have a wonderful day!

Card For A Few Challenges

Hello, there!  Hope you've had a good week so far!  I am still scrambling like crazy to get everything done that I need to and still find time for a little cardmaking.  I managed to find a tiny window of creating time today so I made a card that combines a few of my favorite challenges.  First, it is for this week's Mo's DP2 Challenge #90.  Cathy is our hostess and she challenged us to create a "vintage" card with distressing and lace.  My card is also for the current Copic Coloring Challenge on Suzanne Dean's Color Me Creative Classroom site which was to color folds, pleats and/or ruffles.  I used the July 2011 Sketch For You To Try from Jen Del Muro's blog for my layout and the colors from The Play Date Cafe Challenge #89 - Mint, Buttercream and Taupe.
Here is the July SFYTT:

And here is the inspiration photo for The Play Date Cafe challenge:

Here is my card for all the challenges:

I started with a card base of SU Sage Shadow and layered with papers from the Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden 6x6 pad.  These papers had the perfect combo of colors for the PDCC challenge.  My Mo's image is Wednesday's Child. What a drama queen, yes?? Love her! Her clothing was full of flowing folds that I thought would work great for the CMC Fold, Pleats and Ruffles challenge.  I colored her with Copic markers and added Polar White Flower Soft to her robe to look like fur trim.  I airbrushed the Prima flowers and ivory lace with Copic marker Y21 (Buttercup Yellow).  The main image panel was ink distressed with Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.  A few taupe adhesive pearls finished my card.
Thanks so much for dropping by my blog!  Your visits mean a lot to me!

Wednesday At Heartfelt Creations

Good morning!  We had a lot of strong storms again last night, but this morning is quiet so far.  Hope it stays that way!  Well, it's Wednesday again and of course that means it's time for the Heartfelt Creations Design Team to share new creations with you!  Be sure to check out the Heartfelt Creations blog today where not only will you see gorgeous projects from the team, but there is also a sneak peak of the new Botanical Garden Collection which will be released on July 12 at midnight EST!

Here is one of my projects that was shared on the Heartfelt Creations blog today:

I did a lot of layering on this one and I used a sentiment from HCPC 3400 Bella Rosebuds as the focal image.  I thought this card could work well as either a wedding or anniversary card.  The complete instructions for making this card are on the Heartfelt Creations blog.  Briefly, The card base is a 5 1/2" square of GKD Heavy Base Weight White.  I layered each panel with patterned papers from the Prima Annalee 6x6 pad.  Some of the borders were punched with a Martha Stewart Combo Deco Shells Edge Punch. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and Certainly Celery and heat embossed onto a Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two diecut.  I created a triple loop bow from sheer ribbon using my Bow Easy. Finally, my card was finished with pearl accents made with Baby Blue Liquid Pearls and a Viva Decor Ice White Pearl Pen.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day and hope to see you again soon!

Card For a Couple of Challenges

Good afternoon! Happy 4th of July to those who are celebrating the holiday!  I hope that you had a wonderful weekend no matter what you were doing!  It's been super busy for me so I'm dropping in quickly to share a card I made for a couple of my favorite challenges.  I haven't been able to play much lately because of my huge computer issues and life, in general, taking precedence over card-making, but I managed to find a little time this afternoon and decided to play.

My card is for this week's Mo's DP challenge #89, where our hostess, Lisa, challenged us to make a card based on a book or a story.  My card is also for this week's Just Us Girls challenge (JUGS91) which was a sketch challenge from Kathryn.

Here is the JUGS sketch:

Here is my card for both challenges:

I started with a card base of Papertrey Aqua Mist and layered with patterned papers from the My Mind's Eye Stella Rose Hazel 6x6 pad.  My image is Prince Edward Island from Mo's Digital Pencil. This cute image is reminiscent of Anne of Green Gables with her carpet bag.  That was my story inspiration.  She's colored with Copic markers, of course.  I used Liquid Pearls to accent the Spellbinders Scallop Circle frame. A satin bow, some buttons and a crocheted flower finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  I so appreciate when you do!  Have a great evening!

Exciting News and A Card To Share

Good morning!  It's a holiday weekend here in the US and I know I am looking forward to the extra time to spend with family and friends!  No matter where you are, I hope you have a fun weekend planned!

I can hardly contain myself today as I have a lot of exciting things to tell you!  I can finally share the news that I was invited to be one of the new Design Team Members for July - December 2011 on the Card Patterns Sketch Challenge blog!  I am so honored to have the opportunity to design with this amazingly talented team!  I am still pinching myself to be sure I'm not dreaming!

And if that isn't enough, I was asked to be a Guest Designer for the next two weeks on the Our Creative Corner Challenge blog!  I am so excited to join the OCC team for these two challenges!  This week's OCC challenge was a Seasonal Celebration - create a card for either 4th of July or Christmas in July.  Right away, I thought that the two challenges would work perfectly together.

Here is this week's Card Patterns Sketch #122:

This week's Card Patterns Challenge is being sponsored by We Scrap.com kits.

Here is my card for both challenges:

I decided to create a card for a 4th of July celebration.  I started with a card base of SU Blue Bayou and layered with GKD Cranberry Tart CS.  All my patterned paper is from the We R Memory Keepers Old Glory Collection.  I cut sections of the DP for the 4th of July sentiment and for the main image panel.  The focal panel and frames were cut with Spellbinders Labels Four Large and Small dies.  I stamped the stars from Gina K. Designs Lazy Days of Summer set with SU Blue Bayou and Cranberry Crisp and Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress ink onto coordinating cardstock and punched them out with Marvy star punches.  They were popped up on Pop Dots.  A punched border and a simple bow finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope to see you again soon!  Have a wonderful weekend!
