Jackson's Digital Expressions - Featured Designer

Good morning!  Happy Tuesday!  I'm off to a bit of a late start this morning.  We had some really severe thunderstorms last night and I had all the computers off, just in case.  Luckily, we got some much needed rain, but no damage, at least where I am.  Today is starting off cooler but really muggy!

Anyway, I'm here to share the card I made for Jackson's Digital Expressions.  I am excited to have been invited to be a featured designer this week as part of their big July Release Party!  I will be sharing cards this week that I've made with the new images that were released in July.  Today's Anything Goes Challenge #12 has an optional color inspiration.

Here are the colors:

Here is my card:

I got in the right color families, but I have a bit more pink than the red in the photo inspiration.  I started with a card base of SU Not Quite Navy and layered patterned papers from the Kaisercraft Miss Nelly 6.5x6.5 pad.  My elegant image is Vintage Hat V from Fine Arts by Robert Jackson. You can find it in the Vintage section of Robert's store here. I printed it on Copic X-Press It Blending card and colored it with my Copics.  I added a bit of White Opal Liquid Pearls to her jewelry and around the scalloped frame.  Otherwise I kept my embellishments to a minimum.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  It is part of the Retail Therapy which you can find in Paulette's store here.

I used Jen Del Muro's July Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT) for my layout:

My card is also for Copic Challenge #47 on Suzanne Dean's Color Me Creative Classroom which is to color with navy and/or dark blues.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit Jackson's Digital Expressions blog and check out all the fantastic DT creations and all the events that are part of the July Release!  There are lots of challences to win fabulous prizes!

Have a great day and hope to see you soon!

Create With TLC Blog Hop

Good morning!  The time we've all been waiting for is finally here!  It's time to hop with Create With TLC!   Today, Paulette from Create with TLC is introducing her new design team and as always, that means a fun blog hop filled with fabulous creations to inspire you! Some of the alumni DT members are also participating in today's hop!  The theme for the hop is "Words - Timeless and Beautiful".  Paulette has generously provided gorgeous freebies for you to pick up at every stop on the hop.  If you arrived here from Marsha's wonderful blog, you are in the right place.  If not, you'll want to head back to the Create With TLC blog and start the hop from there so you don't miss any of the team's gorgeous creations or the fantastic freebies!

Here is the beautiful image I got to create with:
To download it for yourself, click on the image, then right click and choose "Save as..." and save it to your computer.

Here is my card with the image:

I started with a card base of SU Tempting Turquoise and layered with a beautiful digi paper that Paulette shared as a freebie on her blog awhile back.  It is called Morning Glory.  I thought it worked perfectly with the wonderful image.  I printed the image onto Copic X-Press It Blending Card and colored it with my Copic markers.  I added some Stickles to the butterflies and flowers for a bit of sparkle.  I added a triple-loop wrinkled ribbon bow and a fabric flower I created from a scrap of a Webster's Pages Bloomer.  A few turquoise gems finished my card.

Thanks for hopping by!  From here, your next stop is Lisa Lynn's blog.  I know she has something amazing to share with you!   Enjoy the rest of the hop!

If you get lost along the way, here is the whole hop list to get you back on track:

Have a great day and see you soon!

Copic/Promarker Challenge - The Outlawz

Good morning!  Happy Friday!  Hope you had a great week and you have fun plans for the weekend!  It's still very hot here, but not quite as bad as last weekend.  I think it's supposed to be only 99 today!  I'm going to be out most of the day, but before I head off, I'm here to share my DT card for this week's Copic/Promarker Challenge at The Outlawz.  Have you joined in on the huge 2,000 Member Party yet?  You have one more day to get your entries in for the challenges.  The party closes at midnight tomorrow.  There are some amazing prizes, so be sure to check it out.  We are back to our regular weekly challenges today.  This week's theme is "vacation destination".  We want to see your project that depicts a fun vacation destination.  It can be any type of vacation you'd like, but there must be some coloring with alcohol markers on your creation.

Here is my card for the challenge:

I picked my favorite vacation destination - the beach! Mind you, you'd never see me on the beach in a bikini! I started with a card base of SU Pear Pizzazz and layered with Soft Sky and patterned paper from the Webster's Pages In Love, Palm Beach & Game On Petite Papers pack.  For my beach scene I merged two images from Mo's Digital Pencil - Beach Elements I and Little Umbrella. You can find them in Mo's store here.  I printed the merged image on Copic X-Press It Blending Card and colored with my Copics. I used my Copic airbrush for the sand, water and sky.  I added a bit of Stickles and Glossy Accents to the main image.

Here is a close-up of the fun image:

My sentiment is from Paulette at Create With TLC.   A few Wild Orchid Crafts aster daisies and a cherry blossom finished my card.

I am also entering my card in Mo's DP2 Challenge #142 (anything goes), Craft Your Passion #117 (chillin' and grillin') and the Tuesday Throwdown #104 (summertime).

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Copic/Promarker Challenge and check out all the fabulous vacation projects from the rest of the DT and our wonderful July Guest Designer, Ann Marie!  We hope you'll be inspired to play along!  We've got a new sponsor for our challenges for July!  Megan from Dilly Beans is offering 3 digis from her store to one lucky participant in our July challenges.  Plus there are always fantastic site-wide prizes up for grabs when you enter the challenges at The Outlawz!

Have a great day and hope to see you soon!

Celebration

I'm back with another quick post tonight.  I'm catching up on all the things I didn't get to do over the weekend.  My card is for a bunch of challenges I like to do. It worked out great that several had similar themes.  So here goes. My card is for the Papertake Weekly Challenge #69 (sketch), Joan's Gardens Challenge #24 (red, white and blue, celebration, tag, stripes), Kenny K.'s Krafty Krew Challenge #100 (patriotic- use colors of your flag), Simon Says Stamp Challenge (sporty or patriotic), Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #170 (red, white and blue and sparkle), Incy Wincy Designs Challenge (patriotic- use colors of your flag), Love to Create Challenge #22 (stars and stripes) and the Copic Challenge #46 on Suzanne Dean's Color Me Creative Classroom (big hair).  Phew!!

Here is the Papertake Weekly sketch:

Here is my card for all the challenges:

I started with a card base of GKD Red Hot and layered red, white and blue patterned papers from the October Afternoon Sidewalks and School Days 8x8 pads.  I was able to get my stars and stripes in with these papers.  My sassy image is Jasmine from Kenny K.  I printed her on Copic X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with my Copics.  I added sparkle to her top, shoes and glasses with Red Stickles and a Red Spica pen.  I made the silver buttons shine with a Letraset Metallic Marker.  I also added Glossy Accents to her glasses.

Here is a close-up of Jasmine:

The sentiment is from the Have Yourself A set from Create With TLC.  You can find it in Paulette's store here.  I made it into a tag and tied it with some Baker's Twine.  A bit of stitched navy ribbon finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by again.  I appreciate your visits so much!  Hope to see you again soon!

Your Big Moment!

Hi there!  Happy Monday!  Hope you all had a great weekend and you have fun plans for the week ahead!  Sheesh, was it ever hot this weekend!  My thoughts go out to everyone still dealing with the high heat and storms and lack of power.  Although we had temps in the 100's, we did not lose power.   It's been raining all day here today.  We really needed it after several weeks with no rain, so no complaints.  Anyway, I didn't have much time in the craft room or on the computer this weekend for a variety of reasons, but I did manage to make one card for Jackson's Digital Expressions Challenge # 10 (anything goes with sketch optional).

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

I started with a card base of GKD Red Hot and layered bright patterned papers from the Kaisercraft Fine & Sunny 6.5x6.5 pad.  For the banner across the top, I used one of the diecuts from the same pad, to which I added a few rhinestones.   My fun image is At The Casino from Fine Arts by Robert Jackson.  It is in the Seniors section of Robert's store here.  I printed her on Copic X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with my Copics.  I added Stickles here and there for some sparkle and Glossy Accents to her glasses and a few places on the slot machine.  The sentiment is from Paulette at Create With TLC.  A few more rhinestones and a chevron-striped bow finished off my card.

My card is also for the new Oozak Challenge #4 - Bright Colors.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope to get back in the swing of things this week!  See you soon!
