Sketch Saturday #339

Hi again!  I am back, as promised, with my DT project for this week's Sketch Saturday Challenge.  This week, we are sponsored by Art by Mi Ran and the prize is 3 digis from the Art by Mi Ran Etsy shop.

Here is the sketch, designed by Vannessa for her DT week:
And here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Riding Hood Red and the patterned papers are from the October Afternoon Holiday Style 8x8 pad.  The sweet image is Desi Waiting For You from Art by Mi Ran.  I colored it with my Copics.  I added some glitter to her collar and some Stickles to the snowflakes.  I also added Glossy Accents to the street light.  The sentiment is from Make it Crafty.  Since there were so many layers, I didn't add any more embellishments.

Guest Designer - Art by Mi Ran Blog

Good morning!  Happy Saturday!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!  Actually I am still sleeping right now (I hope), but I am here with a card and some exciting news!  First the news!  I was invited to be a Guest Designer for the Art by Mi Ran Showcase blog for the month of December!  Woo hoo!  I am thrilled and honored, of course!  Today, I get to share my first project for the month.  I hope you like it!

I created a multi-layered snowflake-shaped card using my Cameo.  The patterned paper is from one of my Christmas mat stacks.  I love the swirling snow and subtle foil elements on it.  The beautiful image is Princess of Snowflakes from Art by Mi Ran.  I colored her with my Copics then added lots of Star Dust and Icicle Stickles to make the image really sparkle! I also added some regular glitter to her collar. I cut out the image with a Spellbinders Lacey Ovals die.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  I added two Memory Box Snowflake Corner die cuts and some pretty white lace to finish my card.

Friday Coloring Challenge - The Outlawz

Good morning!  Happy Friday!  Hope you've had a great week and you have fun plans for the weekend!  I've got nothing special planned.  We've had unseasonably warm weather all week, but it is supposed to rain all day tomorrow, so it will be a good day for indoor activities.  Before getting on with the day, I am here to share my DT card for this week's Friday Coloring Challenge at The Outlawz site.  The theme this week is "beverages".  That's right!  We are celebrating National Bartender Appreciation Day, so we want to see some sort of beverage on your project.  It does not have to be an alcoholic beverage.  Any beverage will do.  You may use any coloring medium you'd like, but you must still have a hand-colored image somewhere on your project.

Here is my card:

My card base and mats are SU Cherry Cobbler and the patterned papers are from the American Crafts Merry Mint 6x6 pad.  The sassy image is Checking Out (for the year) from The Stamping Chef.  I colored her with my Copics.  I added some Glossy Accents to her belt, buttons, shoes and the cocktail glass.  I also added glitter to the trim on her outfit and hat.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  A few stocking stickers from my stash finished my card.

My card base and mats are SU Cherry Cobbler and the patterned papers are from the My Mind's Eye Vintage Christmas 6x6 pad (I think).  The sweet image is Polka Dot Pals Chrissie.  I used the Polka Dot Pals Add-on Faces to give her a pretty face.  I colored the image with my Copics, of course.  I added some glitter to the trim on her coat and hat and the pom poms.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.  A double-loop seam binding bow finished my card.

Make it Colourful Challenge #16

Good morning!  Happy Monday and 1st day of December!  Did I really just type that! Time is just zipping by!  Since it's the first of the month, it's time for a new Make it Colourful Challenge.  The challenge for December is "glistening snow and/or ice".  The goal is to achieve the look of sparkling snow and ice using only coloring techniques.  No cheating allowed with glitter pens or the like!  It's definitely a challenge!  As always, there are some fantastic inspiration photos on the blog, as well as amazing projects from the DT to get your creative juices flowing.  Our wonderful guest, Sandy, has also created a video on how she achieved the glistening effect, so be sure to check it all out.

Here is my attempt at glistening snow and ice:

My card base and mats are GKD Aqua Sea and the miscellaneous solid patterned papers are from my stash.  The fun Winter image was created by merging the Icy Lake Pre-made Scene and Brooke Ice Skating, both from Make it Crafty.  I printed the merged image on MiC Blending Card and colored it all with my Copics.  I tried to make the ice and snow look shimmery with the colors I chose.  I'm not sure I was successful, but hopefully the snow and ice at least have some added dimension. I used my Copic airbrush to do the sky and tried to make it look like rays of light were coming through.  I finished off the card with two die cut snowflake corners (using a Memory Box die) and a few punched snowflakes with gems in the centers.

Here is a close-up of the colored scene:

Copic Colors:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Hair: E50, E53, E57, YR 31
Leggings: BV00, BV,04, BV13, BV17
Sweater, hat and leg warmers: BG10, BG11, BG45, BG53, BG57
