Card Patterns Sketch #115

Hello there!  Hope you are having a great day!  Look at this - I am posting two days in a row!  Today, I am sharing the card I made for this week's Card Patterns Sketch #115.  My card is also for last week's Copic/Promarker Challenge (CPC051311) on The Outlawz site which was to color something cuddly.

I started with a 5" square card base of GKD Lipstick Red and layered with striped DP from the Pink Paislee 365 Degrees 6x6 pad.   My cuddly image is Freddy hugging his teddy from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I printed the image on Cryogen White Iridescent and colored it with Copic markers. The main image panel is cut with a Spellbinders Classic Circle and it is layered on a Lipstick Red Scallop Circle.  I made a little banner out of solid DPs from the same paper pad and a bit of twine.  Some ribbon and buttons from my stash finished it.

Color Me Creative Classroom Copic Challenge

Happy Monday!  I hope your week has gotten off to a great start!  I am hoping to be very productive this week, but we'll see how that goes.  I've already gotten one thing accomplished today and that is to make my card for the current Copic Challenge (Challenge #18) on Suzanne Dean's Color Me Creative Classroom site. The challenge was to create a card or project with lots of white on it, using only a small pop of color.  The image had to be mostly white and colored appropriately.  This was the inspiration photo, but our project did not have to be wedding-related:

I decided to use this sweet Lady Tilda image for my card.  She is from the 2010 Fairy Tale Collection. I colored her with the following Copics: E00, E000, E11, R20 (skin), E27, E31, E35, E50 (hair), R85, R81, R00 (rose and headband) and BG10, C1, C00 (white dress).  I added some Stardust and Pink Stickles here and there for a little sparkle. I cut her out and popped her up on foam tape.  The embossed frame was created with the Sizzix Wreath Embossing Folder.  I kept my embellishments to a minimum, adding only a few tiny ribbon roses to the frame and some little pearl flowers to the corners.  The CS is all from Gina K. Designs (Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight, Layering Weight White and Innocent Pink).

Our Creative Corner Challenge - Au Naturel With a Twist

Good evening!  I hope you had a great weekend!  It was a mixed bag of weather here, but today turned out much nicer than expected.  I'm popping in quickly to share the card I made for this week's challenge on the Our Creative Corner blog.  Linda challenged us to make a monochromatic card, but not with just any monochromatic colors.  It had to be all neutrals (and gold/silver or metallics).  The main project had to use only pale neutrals (ivory, white, beige, tan, gray) with darker neutrals (dark gray, brown, black) being used as accents only.  The twist was to include lace and buttons.

Here is my card:

My card is 5 1/2 " sqaure.  I started with a card base of SU Going Gray and layered with patterned paper from GCD Studios Sweet Surrender collection.  I was so happy when I remembered this paper because it has all the pale neutrals in it (ivory, white, beige, tan, gray) with just a touch of darker tan accents.  I added some beautiful Winter White lace and a few mother of pearl buttons from my stash.  I made a quadruple loop bow from undyed Winter White seam binding using the Bow Easy and finished it with a carved silver metallic button.  The frame and sentiment are from Gina K. Designs Lovely Labels 2 set.  They are stamped with SU Going Gray and Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Distress Ink , respectively.  All in all, a simple card, but I really like the elegant look of the neutrals.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #82 (and more)

Good morning!  Hope your day is off to a great start!  I popping in to share a card I made for this week's Mo's DP2 Challenge #82.  This week, Sheila is the hostess and the theme is "Here Comes Summer".  My card is also for this week's Color Throwdown #141 - Aqua, Yellow and Rose Red. 

Finally, I also submitted my card to the current Copic Coloring Challenge on Suzanne Dean's Color Me Creative Classroom site, where the theme was "Spring Break".

Here is my card for the challenges:

I started with a card base of SU Tempting Turquoise and layered with patterned paper from the Basic Grey Lime Rickey 6x6 pad.  My Mo's image is To The Beach.  She's printed on Cryogen White Iridescent and colored with Copic markers.  The background beach scene was created with a combination of Copics (sand) and sponging with dye inks (ocean and sky).  I added Yellow and Aqua Stickles for some sparkle.  It's finished with a sheer ribbon bow and and Offray sheer ribbon flower.

Here is one of my cards that was featured today:

My card uses Heartfelt Creations HCPC 3391 Bold Bella Rose and HCPC 3394 Classic Bella Rose.  I also used the new exclusive Heartfelt Creations HCD 712 Bella Rose Die to cut my images.  The card base was created using the largest of the Spellbinders Lattice Rectangle Dies.  I wove some pretty pink satin ribbon through the lattice.  The patterned paper is from the Prima Annalee 6x6 pad.  Full instructions on how to make this card can be found on the Heartfelt Creations blog.

My card is also for last week's challenge over at Our Creative Corner blog which was to use weaving for our creation.
