Color Throwdown #137 (and more)

Good evening!  Can't believe the weekend is nearly over already!  Lots of crazy weather here, but all in all, a good weekend otherwise.  I am popping in to share the card I made for last week's Color Throwdown #137.  It is also for last week's Sketch Challenge (STVSKSP21) on StampTV.

Her is my card for both challenges:

I started with a card base of GKD Grass Green CS and layered with patterned and solid papers from the DCWV Cafe Mediterranean Matstack.   I stamped the daffodils from the GKD set, Sending Sunshine, with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers.  The main image was matted with a Spellbinders Lacey Oval die cut.  I punched the border of the yellow panel with the Martha Stewart Arch Lattice Edge Punch.  A bit of Gentleman's Blue Trim from Webster's Pages Ladies & Gents Trim Card finished my simple card.

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #77 (and more)

Good afternoon!  I hope it's as gorgeous where you live as it is here in NC!  I think spring is finally here to stay!  I am popping in to share a card I made for a few challenges this week.  First, it is for the Play Date Cafe Challenge #77.  Here is the inspiration photo that Ruby had for us this week:

My card is also for Mo's DP2 Challenge #78.  Dorcas is our hostess again  this week and the theme is "Start of Something New", interpreted anyway you like as long as you use a Mo's image.  Finally, my card is for this week's Sketch Challenge (SC0413) on The Outlawz site.  Here is the sketch:

I was inspired by the colors, the clean lines and the white brick wall in the PDCC inspiration photo.  I started with a card base of Kraft and layered with SU Wild Wasabi.  I embossed a panel of heavy weight white CS with the Cuttlebug Brickyard embossing folder.  My fun image is Hoping from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I colored her with Copic markers and highlighted with a Sharpie White Paint Pen.  I added a little Glossy Accents to the "glass" on the scale.  The sentiment was computer generated.  A few brads and some Wasabi stitched ribbon finished my card.  This is going to a friend who signed up for a "Biggest Loser" contest at her work.  That's my "start of something new" for Mo's - a new diet!  I think my friend will get a kick out of this image (which reminds me a lot of both of us - lol)!

Joan's Gardens Weekly Card Challenge #13

Hello!  I hope you've had a great day!  This is my second post today - I hope you had a chance to check out the new release from Heartfelt Creations - the Springtime Cardinal Collection!  If not, you'll definitely want to head on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog.  In addition to all the inspiring card samples from the Design Team, you can enter there for a chance to win the whole release!  Amazing!

On to my card.  I made this card for the Weekly Card Challenge #13 on Joan's Gardens' blog.  This week the challenge had the following requirements:

-Use an embossing folder

-Use a die cut

-Add something dimensional

-Make a monochromatic card with just a splash of color

My card is also for this week's Greeting Card Challenge (GC041111) on The Outlawz site which was to make a card that is at least 50% white and has a sentiment on the front.

Here is my card:

I started with a card base of GKD heavy base weight white CS and layered with  Papertrey Spring Rain.  I embossed a white panel with the Cuttlebug Kassie's Brocade embossing folder.  The main image panel was cut with a Spellbinders Classic Oval die and layered onto a Spellbinders Lacey Oval frame.  I added tiny pearls to the scallops of the frame.  The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations Inspire Me Sentiments.  It is stamped with Memento Summer Sky.  I stamped three each of three of the Heartfelt Creations Posy Patch Flowers with Summer Sky and cut them out with Heartfelt Creations Posy Patch Flowers dies.  I layered them and added a pearl to the flower centers.  These were mounted with foam tape around the frame.  A very simple card but it has lots of dimension in real life.

Wednesday at Heartfelt Creations - New Springtime Cardinal Collection

Good morning!  I am so excited to be sharing a couple of cards I made for my first week as a Design Team Member for Heartfelt Creations!  Today they are releasing the beautiful new Springtime Cardinal Collection.  This Collection features 8 new PreCut Sets. These new sets coordinate with existing exclusive Heartfelt Creations dies manufactured by Spellbinders. The images in this collection are very classic and elegant, perfect for coloring with your Copic markers and you will love the fact that they coordinate with some of the existing Heartfelt Creation dies - an added value for some of the dies you might already own.  To see the complete release, click here.

Here is my first card:

I made a 5 1/2 " square card started with a card base of Ivory CS. The patterned paper is from the Webster's Pages Country Estate Petite Papers.  I stamped the main image from the Heartfelt Creations Magnificent Cardinal Rose set with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Cryogen White Iridescent and colored with Copic Markers.  I stamped and colored another single cardinal from the Heartfelt Creations Cardinal Family set.  This single cardinal was cut with the corresponding Heartfelt Creations Cardinal Family die and layered on the main image with foam tape.  The image is framed by a Spellbinders Lacey Square.  The sentiment is also from the  new Magnificent Cardinal Rose set.  It is cut with a Spellbinders Labels Four Small die. A bit of wrinkled seam binding finished my card.

Here is another card I made:

I started with a card base of SU Bordering Blue and made a standard A2 size card.  The patterned paper is from the K & Co. Julianne pad.  The main image is from the new Heartfelt Creations Spring Birdies and Roses.  It is stamped with Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics.  I stamped and colored a single corresponding cardinal from the Heartfelt Creations Cardinal Family set.  The single cardinal was cut with a Heartfelt Creations Cardinal Family die and popped up on foam tape.  The main image was framed with a Spellbinders Lacey Circle.  The sentiment is from the new set, Sentiments For Mom. It was cut out with Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio. Some wrinkled silk ribbon finished this one. 

One additional note: I used this week's Card Patterns Sketch #110 for my layout.

Play Date Cafe #76 (and more)

Good evening!  This is my second post today.  I am sharing the card I made for last week's challenge on The Play Date Cafe (#76).

My card is also for last week's Prismas and Other Mediums Challenge (PM0407) on The Outlawz site.  The theme was "Spring Cleaning" - we were to use stuff from our stash. 

Here is my card for both challenges:

I started with a card base of Papertrey Enchanted Evening and layered with New Leaf.  I grabbed the patterned paper from my scrap bag - it is Paper House Productions Renoir Seascape.  I was delighted to find a scrap with the same colors as the inspiration photo!  I stamped the Heartfelt Creations Dutch Oval Iris with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Cryogen White Iridescent and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  The background is sponged with Memento Summer Sky.  The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations Inspire Me Sentiments.  It was stamped onto Cryogen White and cut out with one of the Spellbinders Fancy Tags.  I sponged the tag with Summer Sky while it was still in the die.  Added a scrap of sky blue ribbon  and a couple of adhesive gems from my stash to finish it.
